The Bruins host the Canucks tomorrow (Saturday, Jan 7th). Scheider is getting the start over Luongo.

Is this because Schneider is from the area and is getting the start in front of his family and friends? Do they not want to subject Luongo to a red-hot Bruins team right now? Or does it just so happen that it's time to give Schneider a start according to how many starts they want to give Lu over the year?

Stop trying to over analyze the goalie situation.... Luongo or Schneider...BOTH fantastic goalies. I'll bet they're as tired trying to answer the same questions every single time a decision is made as I am hearing about it. Please, let's just enjoy the game and the great rivalry between these two very good teams. Go Canucks!!!

The stupidest thing about all of this is why do I living in western canada have to watch Edmonton Vs Dallas and there is no TV coverage of the rematch of the Stanley cup finals and why it is being played at noon instead of being a primetime game. Well done NHL schedule makers.

And Marchand with what I consider to be the most cowardly hit in the NHL. When you go low like that, thats just has chicken sh!! all over it. I actually like Marchand before that but that is just a crap move.

According to HNIC, Lucic was ruled to be on the ice legally, hence no suspension. They also rescinded his game misconduct, although what purpose that serves at this point I have no idea.

The Marchand hit was dirty - so pretty much what I expect from him. HNIC commentators all seemed to feel that a suspension would be forthcoming. No word on Salo, he left the game injured, and it didn't look great.

Salo listed with a concussion now, because he woke up with a headache the next day...

Wonder if this is like the Pacciorety situation where they "allegedly" play up a symptom to get a stiffer suspension.

Or, could be that Salo has filled his injury punch-card so gets one free from the NHL.

Uh no, this is not a sitch where they are "playing up a symptom"....neither was the Pacciorety sitch, are you on crack?

Did you not see the Pacciorety hit?...did you not see him on the ice, unconcious, snot bubbles coming from his nose, drool from his mouth?....Mark Recchi, is that you?

As for Salo, he lay on the ice in obvious pain after the hit....then, when he did get up, he could be described as shaky at best, looking exactly like someone who has had his bell rung, and quite obviously injured

No, I agree, just noting that it was against the Bruins as well and wondering if we were going to hear any of the same allegations...

No doubt we'll hear all the allegations in the world. But Salo landed badly and definitely looked hurt on the ice, he didn't get up for a bit and then skated off immediately. Given that its Salo, I'm surprised that ALL he has is a concussion.

Hit was dirty? What hit?
A player ducks from being mowed down, and its a dirty hit?

Show me ANY angle where it looks like Salo is about to mow anything down.

I've moved faster "mowing down" my lawn...

If Marchand is a dirty player (which im not necessarily DISagreeing with) than so is Hamhuis, Raymond and Ballard...who all committed the exact same offense last year that went unpunished and unpenalized. Marchand himself had a similar hit against Van in the finals that no one thought was dirty at the time.

I'm not protecting Marchand...but I don't believe the hit to be any different from a hip check that is thrown by players all the time in the league, other than the fact that this time the guy was 5'9 to begin with and would be even lower than normal when bent over.

Just shows it is a knee jerk reaction because a player got a headache concussion and because Van used the media to complain as per usual.

As a bruin fan I NEVER thought I would say these words but there is a team that I personally hate more than the Montreal Canadiens, and that is the Canucks. A dirty whiney team that does the exact sme things to opposing teams but cries when it happens to them. I really hate the Canucks.
