He's one of my all time favourite players. He was so talented. Fast, agile, amazing passer, and a acorer. Here are some quotes from other players about him.

There aren't many video clips that i can find on him which is really too bad. If you didn't get to see him you missed some really amazing moves, plays and goals.
Here's one clip of him anyway. Probably the best individual effort goal that I can remember. It's number one on this list.

Since I'm only 13 i didn't get to see him play but judging from that one goal he did he was pretty amazing, in that goal he showed speed, hands, shot and desire I would have loved to see him play.

I'm sure Al Secord misses him too! One of the least likely guys in the history of hockey to be a 50 goal scorer - before being teamed with Savard and Larmer, his highest goal total was 23.

Savard was also one of my all time favorites. It was great seeing him in the open ice. One of the most creative skaters in the history of the NHL.

Actually something Willus and I can agree on!

Yes Savard is one of the all time greats. He had the spin-a-rama...

He was one of those players that if you tried to hit him in open ice, you missed, and made yourself look stupid...Like trying to hit Gretzky...

Lead, follow, or get out of the way...

I miss him too. One of my all time faves...the guy could just take over a game, not like Gretzky, not like Lemieux, much different. There was an electricity in the building when he got going, and when he was at his best, nobody could defend him.

I came across another link for Savard. This one shows quite a few highlites and shows the moves he had. For you young guys that think the Datsyuk's and so on are impressive, have a look at who invented countless unbelievable moves.

After seeing that I miss Denis Savard. Wow, this guy was skilled. Willus when you say this guy was something to watch you were right. I never knew he played on the Bolts though.

Good ol' Denis! The human highlight reel. I remember trying to do the spin o' rama in peewees after seeing him do it.

Does anyone else think his skating style was very similar to Wayne Gretzky's?

Not even a little bit. Savard was one of the best skaters I've ever seen. I always thought Gretzky looked choppy and off balance. They were both very shifty though if that's what you mean.

Fair enough Willus, I agree that G wasn't the greatest skater. What I mean is that they are both hunched over fairly far and their backs are curved more. Not really standard issue power skating.
