This is a brand new league and every poster is a GM. The game is a dynasty league so you will have this team for ever. I am posting this in response to the best player in the world topic.

The rules are you can't draft 2 positions in a row. So as soon as someone posts a pick you can pick again. Feel free to provide some input to each pick.

This is for fun only. This is not a pool or anything like that. See if we can get maybe 2 rounds of 30.

3rd pick i will take .... wait i forget...

Claude Giroux.

tough with malkin still on the board... but giroux still has so much potential and is a year younger.

in addition he has shown leadership qualities and an ability to perform in clutch situations.

with the 4th pick in the draft I will select

Henrik Lundqvist

He is a bit older at 30 yrs old but still has a few great years in front of him
Likely has been the best goalie in the NHL for the past 3 seasons.
Gotta build from the net out.

Rich Nash

In the Prime of his career at age 27
Has had Columbus on his back with little to no help
Could be dangerous if surrounded by some talent
Canadian born
best power forward available

Rick Nash at #5 overall. That has to be a joke. Serious, the best power forward around??? I think there are 10-15 guys in the NHL would take offense to that comment.

If I was a GM today and those players are off the board, Malkin is my pick. I don't need to explain why. His Stanley Cup ring and 2-Art Ross trophies say enough.

Daniel Alfredsson is the MVP of the universe. All hail the Ottawa Senators!!!!!

I will jump back in and select hhhmmm tough one here.

I am going to have to go with Ovechkin.

Has definately lost a little bit but I think in the right situation and the right coach there are few better. Still young I can't leave this guy on the board.

1. Crosby
2. Stamkos
3. Giroux
4. Lundqvist
5. Nash
6. Malkin
7. Ovechkin

So far I have taken the 2nd and 4th pick in this pool with Stamkos and Lundqvist.

With the 8th pick I am happy to take

Shea Weber

He is a stud D man and can shut down the the other teams best players.
He is still only 26 yrs old and has never had a major injury.

Think what you wan't if im building a team I like team players, I think Malkin is vey skilled but I'd give the edge to Nash. If they swapped places I think pitts is a better team with Nash

With the 10th pick in the draft I will take....

Erik Karlsson

Very good offensive D
Only 21 years old
Continues to improve on both ends of the ice
QB a good power play

If this is a dynasty league, then I'll take Jordan Eberle with my 1st pick.

no need to describe him. he's already a star in the league.

With the 12th pick,
I'll take Henrik Sedin.

No need to explain it, other than . . . it was close between a few guys here for me.

16th pick,

I'll take Daniel Sedin.

This is making me seem like a Sedin lover, but seriously guys . . . we already have a world class goalie and two or three world class d-men, so I'd have thought we get those top 10 forwards out of the way, no?

This is extremely confusing. We did a draft last year i think that was similar, but included retired players (can't recall how far back we were able to go?). It was fun, but there was a limited number of participants AND more importantly, there was some structure. How is the guy who picked 2nd also picking 4th? Not to mention the ever changing guest numbers?

4227.....i like the idea, prob be pretty fun, but you should look up the one from last year and structure it similarly where there's some limit's and pick order! Takes awhile, but was fun to do but this one is far too confusing with no limit to entries, picks, etc.... Just my 2 cents worth

Had to take the Sedins over him, but with a complete team, he's dy-no-mite!

A little confusing to say the least. I never intended this to be actually your team that you are choosing. I saw that someone chose a forward to go with a d. This was done more to discuss the best player in world mind you not very well thought or explained.

So far the big one that surprised me was Nash. Of all the players in the league I personally wouldn't take him 5th overall.

Sincerely folks,

He explained the bloody game and the rules pretty well. Just go back, and re-read it, ok? Simple.

It's just for fun, and some of us, we actually had some, especially in the middle of a busy work day. Broke up my busy day! So, I hate to be a wet blanket, but . . . for you kids that don't "get it" and can't fathom this crazy idea or wrap your brains around it? Just go back to school, and stop those video games.

Oh yeah, I'm off my pedestal now.

John Tavares.
