Who is the only player to lead the playoffs in scoring twice without making it to the Finals that year?

Off the top of my head, it's gotta be Gretzky.

Peter Forsberg (Colorado)

1999: 24 points in 19 games
(Dallas and Buffalo were in the finals)

2002: 27 points in 20 games
(Detroit and Carolina were in the finals)

Hmmm . . . good one. I remembered that one year for Forsberg, back in the Colorado/Detroit rivalry days; but did not recall that Dallas/Buffalo final with him leading all scorers.

It is indeed Peter Forsberg.

Other players have led the playoffs in scoring without appearing in the Finals, but only Forsberg did it twice.

Others to do it include:
Phil Esposito in 1969 (it was Montreal vs St. Louis)
Bill Goldsworthy in 1968 (also Montreal vs St. Louis)
