Our first-line winger is here for two more years. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

I think it's a mistake on the part of Leafs management (what else is new?) and the fact that JFJ is close to a contract extension...
Your thoughts are welcomed.

I can't believe he is a first line winger he is more of a 2nd or 3rd line winger. |

It's the Leafs, what do you expect?
More bad decisions by JFJ. Good for the rest of us though, we probably won't be seeing TO in the playoffs again soon. |

I am not sure if it is that poor of a deal. I heard he signed for $2 million a year for 2 years. That's double what his last contract was. He's not a bad player and solid defensively on a less than stellar team. Here's a list of other forwards(I think I got all the d-men and goalies out of the list) that will be getting between $2 million and $2.4 million next season. Does he not belong on this list?? I think he does.
The problem is that this a 1st line forward on the Leafs. He is 2nd maybe 3rd line on most other teams.
Rucchin, Steven Lapointe, Martin Conroy, Craig Hecht, Jochen Ruutu, Tuomo Lehtonen, Kari Sillinger, Michael Vyborny, David Stoll, Jarret Draper, Kris Legwand, David Schaefer, Peter Scatchard, Dave Cajanek, Petr Niedermayer, Rob Halpern, Jeff McCauley, Alyn Reinprecht, Steven Bell, Mark

what do Calgary and a tea bag have in common- they're both only good for one cup |

This is another typical bone head decision from JFJ (or as I like to call him.....Leaf Killer). This man knows as much about running a team as Antropov knows about playing hockey........NOTHING.
I seriously can't understand what JFJ is thinking. Does he really think that signing Antropov for another 2 years at 2 million a year will help the team?? This guy spends more time on his knees or flat on his backside then he does on his skates. I have always been a dedicated Leafs fan, but this could just be the straw that broke the camel's back for me!!
JFJ must go!!!!!

Antropov, what a waste of INK, I hope the idea of signing him was to make a trade later...It never worked before...Lets try one more time

Hating on Antrapov? I think you are all drastically accusing him for things he hasn't done. 05-06 he was bad on defence, and took too many penalties. He got penalized for that. He fixed his game up. He's impressed me this season. He has fixed his defence and is playing MUCH smarter. Leaf fans should be able to recognize that if they watch games. I admit he isn't first line caliber, especially when the center is Mats Sundin. |
