Daniel Briere is a speedy and crafty centreman. Any GM would be lucky to have him on there team. |

Forsberg if the salary would be reasonable. I would let him rehabilitate for a while and then unleash him to toy with the other teams.
(Time differance Pickuphockey-Sweden approx +9 hours 1min 5sek......so I can always blame it on Jetlag.) |

I would take Briere soley because he is the best player to take. Any team that takes him will have to blow their budget but will see improvement.
Second place is only first place of the losers. |

Drury, although Briere is better skill-wise I think Drury would be better to teach the young guys and is also very good offensive and defensive. Also would probably ask for 1-1.5M less than Briere.

It depends what you need. You need leadership Smyth or Drury would be the best, you need offence Briere or a healthey Forsberg would be good, and if you need a defenceman to do nothing except take a shot at the point on the power play and get blowed away by forwards 20 times a game then take Souray |

I think for my team the Sabres we have to get Drury back because well he's captain clutch, hard working player, never takes a night off, good on the power play and can kill penalties and is a great captain. He'll be our full time captain. |

Hey Pasty do you think he could make Kovalev not coast from blue line to blue line?
But you're rite he would fit on any team, but of course I want him on my Sabres. |

Jason Blake to Toronto for four years $20 million.
Scott Gomez to Rangers.
I dunno how to react to the Blake deal being a Maple Leaf fan. Anyone's thoughts?
He seems to be a very good skater with a wicked shot but I was hoping for someone else to play with Sundin and/or Wellwood. I hope this is not the only power forward Toronto signs. |

Rangers also have Cherpenov. If they don't get it this year they can add him to the mix and it helps out more. |

To me the signing of Jason Blake to The Toronto Maple Leafs is a good move for JFJ. Jason Blake, a fomer 40 goal scorer, will provide a bit more of a scoring touch that the leafs dont really need. But still, 40 goals every year will no question help a hockey team.

I dont think I would really call Blake a power forward. Small players, such as Blake, typically arent your average power forward. |

Blake is a selfish player though. Watch Sundin pass him the puck and him taking it to the goal. With Tucker near the net if Blake doesn't score Tucks can bang it in or pass it back to Mats. Watch Sundin get lots of assists this year.
Good overall signing though. Look at my response in the "Blake to Toronto" topic.

Nylander to the Caps in a four year contract.
Hamrlik to the Habs in a four year contract.
Smart moves. This will be a good year for Washington. |

Looks like the caps finally have someone to play with Ovechkin. But one more player will not turn them into a contender.

Holy crap...the Ducks have Bertuzzi! Man they are REALLY stacked now. Selanne and Niedermayer better not retire--next season is gonna be great. |

I think that it is a surprise to me because Sheldon Souray is a premier defenceman in the NHL and any team would be lucky to grab him as a UFA. |

Hey Mik, why do you think that Burke went out and Picked up Schneider and Burtuzzi?? Neidermayer has told Burke that he is leaning towards retirement and Selanne appears to have done the same.
The Ducks were at $31 million before signing Giggy, Bertuzzi, and Schneider. This will put them at $46 million with 9 UFA (including Selanne) . Think this through. Hockey is more than the players on the ice. It's a business. How can the Ducks sign 5-7 players with $5 million??
I will eat my shirt if Neidermayer doesn't retire. Selanne may come back at a bargin, but Scotty is history.
I Love your Kids, IHC is the man, and The Oilers Rule. Does that make me insane?? |

NYI signed Comrie! NYI signed Comrie! First Preissing leaves, now Comrie! Good, good, we're disabling the Senators!
And Buffalo signed Thibault! He'll be a decent backup, certainly a billion times better than Conklin.
NYI is actually recovering from its blows...they now have Guerin and Comrie. A good start. |

I think Garth Snow has done an excellent job as GM of the NYI. Maybe Charles Wang didnt make a terrible move after all. |

more than a billion times better than conklin, why is conklin in the nhl anyway?
what do Calgary and a tea bag have in common- they're both only good for one cup |

Well Conkiln's first game with Buffalo he stopped over 40 shots!
And Thibault is a good veteran goaltender who could push Miller to play better than Conklin did to push him.
And Mik good news for us, no more Comrie and Preissing on the Sens really helps us.
And has anyone heard of where Peter Forsberg will most likeley be?
And what about Sheldon Souray? |

Considering his injuries and him being 1/3 of the double triple gold club Forsberg might not be as hungry as he has been in the past. He might retire, take a year off or play in sweden again. If he choose to play in the NHL I hope it´s for another team than the Preds.
The title that Forsberg is missing and it´s kinda big if your swedish is winning the Elite league (SM-guld). And when you add up the fact that the only club in europe Forsberg can see himself playing for won the same title for the first time in 28 years last season it´s not entirely impossible that he chooses to play in sweden next season.

Yes! The Sens won't be quite as strong now.
