Poll Question:
The Vancouver Canucks/Edmonton Oiles home and home this weekend had the home team wearing there white jerseys and the away team wearing there dark jerseys. I personaly pefer this and am wondering what the rest of you think. Should the NHL go back to white jerseys at hom and dark jerseys on the road?

I don't think it really matters as long as it's consistant. For YEARS, every home team wore white. Then the change to dark. Now, it seems it could be either. It's not like it's a big deal, but I kind like catching up with a game part way through and right away knowing what team is the home team.
If you are under the age of 15, please do some research before you make a post about anything pre-1997. |

I like the jerseys better this way. If fans are gonna buy a jersey they'll usually buy the dark ones. they just look cooler. Sometimes fans wanna look like their team and they won't go out and buy another jersey
i agree with beans though it doesn't really matter as long as you know who your team is.

I have to agree, dark jerseys just usually, not always look cooler. I for instance would rather buy a dark jersey than white jersey, it just adds more colour and its diffrent because every team has a white jersey. |

I would rather have the home go back to white and away to dark. I always liked to see the distinctive colours for each team when they came to play the home team. Now every team that comes into the other team's arena has white jerseys. It's nice to see some different colours at home games. |

That is exactly what I think. Why would you want to watch white come to your arena 41 times a year. It sucks.

I still don't think it matters as long as you know which your team is.

The NHL is going back to the white jerseys as the home next year I'm pretty sure. Look at dallas why would the have DALLAS across their home jersey? Shouldn't their home crowed know where their from? As for which do I perfer it doesn't really matter to me, I like the darks at home, but I alson like the tradition of wearing white as a home jersey.

Fans like to buy the jersey with color, not just white. For example, Ottawa's color is red and if everyone wore their white jerseys it would be a white ScotiaBank place which does not make sense. The fans buy the non-white jersey to show their team's color and its nice if the fans match the home players -it is the same with all the teams in the NHL.
The way it is now just makes more sense to me. |
