I think we've proven many times there is no true code, but this is . . . very, very unsportsmanlike, and it's absolutely cowardly and outside the bounds of acceptable play.
What I truly appreciate, is how the franchise immediately released him with the sweetest of "immediate release due to ridiculous behaviour/incident' I have ever had a chance to hear or read:
"Edinburgh Capitals have released Joe Grimaldi from his contract. The club wish Joe well on his future career.”
How gentlemanly of them, and frankly very polite (and yet appropriate). At the same time, great to see them do it.
