Theres one important point thats not being mentioned either regarding the kessel trade....because kessels contract is unloaded......the leafs can......

hearing lots of rumblings that if Stamkos does make it to UFA, Buffalo is prepared to throw a pile of money at him. hearing rumours of upwards of $12M a season for 8 years. yowsah!

if I'm Toronto I'm not sure I go that high. that's a HUGE cap hit for a very long time.

as each day goes by it gets more and more interesting. July 1 is just around the corner....

Stamkos is a great player, but no way I would give him $12 million per. That's asking for trouble down the road. Also, only TB can offer him 8 years (and only until July 1). Buffalo and others can only go a max of 7 years. Unless TB does a sign and trade.
