In a perfect world, yes. Lowered injuries and fatigue, increase importance to the regular season games. But the likely hood of the teams shortening there revenue stream, unlikely. Unless they can find a way to incorporate some type of a European, Khl tournament using mostly NHL rinks, to build revenue, similar to the World Cup event, but every year during a time when meaningful hockey is played (winter/spring), not the preseason, I can't see it happening. |

ive been saying that for years ....65 gm reg season maybe and all playoff series best 3 of 5 . im an avid fan but hockey in June ?? bit much i think |

I'm ok with the length of the hockey season and length of the playoffs. Players are at a totall different level these days in terms of conditioning, athleticism and fitness, and I don't see any issues as a result.
