Crosby is back. Ovechkin is still out though. Crosby would be in the top 5 in points right now if he played more than 12 games. He has 19 points thus far by the way.

Western Conference:
Pacific Division:
San Jose- 2nd in Pacific. Must Improve defense and penalty kill which is sitting at 25th in the league.
Dallas- 5th in Pacific. Must balance lines. Trade fro defense or mix up pairs. 3.04 GAPG right now.
Northwest:
Minnesota- 1st in Northwest. Very tight division, Must improve offense dramatically. could sacrafice some of the amazing defense.
Vancouver- T2nd in Northwest. More defense is needed and with the loss of Salo, it only gets worse. Need a defenseman over the rating of 84 quickly. If not, you will slip in the division.
Edmonton- T2nd in Pacific. Team is 3-4-4 in last 10 games. With Souray injured, find another powerplay quarterback and leading defenseman.
Colorado- T2nd in Northwest. Have edge on competition for 2nd in division playing 1 less game so far. Leagues best offense but T26th in defense.
Calgary- 5th in Northwest. Leagues best defense makes up for horrible offense and powerplay. PP- 10.7% and only 59 GF this season.
Only bright side to the team thus far is Michael Ryder.
Central:
Detroit- First in Central. Great chemistry and goaltending. PP just 16% though.

Eastern Conference:
Southeast
Carolina- 1st in Southeast. With injuries, offense takes serious hit. As soon as Cullen and Brind'amour return, the hurricanes will rise in standings.
Tampa Bay- 3rd in Southeast. In about 2 weeks, will be up into 2nd place ahead of the slowing Panthers who you have a 5 game advantage over. Average Offense, Defense and Special Teams.
Atlanta- 3rd in Southeast. Average offense and bad defense cause slip. Should consider a power line. Should trade for more 3rd and 4th line support.
Washington- down and out right now. With today's return of Ovechkin, you should rise ahead of the slumping Thrashers and Panthers.
Atlantic:
New Jersey- 1st in Atlantic. Leagues best all-round team right now, in my opinion. don't change much.
New York Rangers- 2nd in Atlantic. Average offense overshadowed by sloppy defense. Salo should sort out some problems.
Philladelphia- 3rd in Atlantic. Above average offense and defense counters league's 2nd worst penalty kill.
Pittsburgh- 4th in Atlantic. Since the return of Crosby, have gone from 15th in the East to 10th. Should be in a playoff spot in about 2 weeks time.

Flyers are looking for help defensively. Willing to move another defenceman or 2. Trade possibilities include Umberger (80) and a fourth or fifth defenseman (77-80 range) for a third defenseman (80-83 range). Let me know if any of these interest you.
Freddyboy, I'm retracting my trade offer for Kovalev for Gagne. After re-evaluating, not the right move for me right now.

Given the fact that you've just accepted a trade involving Brooks Orpik, I'll assume you've therefore rejected my offer. However, I'm still interested in Fleury, and besides Sakic and Forsberg, anyone on my team is potentially available. Sorry for the inconvenience, I forgot the northeast.
Ottawa- 1st in Northeast. After amazistart, all the players are slowing a bit. Should prepare for Carolina and New Jersey's approach for 1st in the East. Better defense should help.
Toronto- 2nd in Northeast. At this rate, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay should over-take the slumping leafs offense if it isn't improved. This will send the leafs down into 9th or 10th in the conference.
Buffalo- T3rd in Northeast. Very average team. Need more experienced players to guide young stars if the sabres want to get deep into the playoffs.
Montreal- 5th in Northeast. After bad start on both ends of the ice, offense is improving as Conroy is finding a grove scoring 5 goals in his last 4 games after only a 4 point start. Defense needs improvement.

The way I see it it is a win-win-win . I need a fast guy, Flames needs Conroy and Antropov is a big guy that can definitely help the Habs offence, as well as clean up the garbage in front of the net. Good deal for all in my opinion. |

I have a quick question for you. Are there third goalies in the game? For example, I have both Budaj (84) and Theodore (83) on my roster right now, if I were to trade both of them but only recieve one goalie in return, would I be able to automatically fill the backup spot with Tyler Weiman, who nhl.com has as their third goalie.
I'm interested because I'm looking to upgrade in goal and am willing to part with either or both of my current goalies.

To Everyone,
I've been getting a bit frustrated trying to formulate trades using this discussion thread, because all of the rosters and lineups are posted on different pages, meaning I have to flip from page to page to see different players and teams. I like the penguins and flyers idea to put the players overall stat beside their name on their lineups, because it is much more organized than the alphabetical rosters.
So, I have come up with an idea that I think will help the situation. We create a new thread that is only for lineups, and everyone posts their lineup with overall stats in that thread. We continue to use this thread to offer and accept trades, but when a trade does go through, we wouldn't re-post our lineup here, we would edit our post in the other thread. That way Nash needs only to check the lineup thread when he has time to update, not go looking through several pages of random posts.
I guess Nash will probably have the final say in this, but anyone is welcome to post other ideas or expand on this one in order to bring some sort of sanity to this whole process. |

I'll gladly do this. I was considering this myself because it was getting a bit unorganized. There will be one thread for line-ups and one for trades and free agents. I'm gonna keep this one for standings though.
