Poll Question:
What is the most surprising part of the season so far?

Choices:

Buffalo Sabres 10th in east
St Louis Blues 8th in west
Mats Sundin 8th in NHL points
Pascal Leclaire 1st in NHL shutouts
Pascal Leclaire 3rd in SV% / 2nd in GAA
Niedermayer''s return to the Ducks
Multiple Flyer''s suspensions

You can make a case for a lot of these.

St. Louis Blues? Where are they coming from?!

Sundin, I guess you can credit a lot of his success to having Jason Blake, and a revitalized Nikolai Antropov

Buffalo, you lost both captains and are riding on a bunch of young guns... One day you will have a good time, but for now, it might mean a season out of the playoffs

Flyers Flyers Flyers... well, the Broadstreet Bullies are back, maybe?

Niedermayer was bound to return, he was picked up in over 50 percent of ESPN pools I believe

But Pascal Leclaire? With all due respect, I thought this guy was the name of some mediocre French wine (I might have cracked that joke before... excuse my inability to get a little bit more original.) But 1st shutouts, 2nd SV%, 3rd GAA? That is inhuman. I go with shutouts just because they are worth five points in hockey pools, but it is a good toss up between both I would say.

Habs get number 25 this year

Pascal Leclaire is playing well. But I think we should just give some credit to the whole Columbus Blue Jackets organization. Ken Hitchkock has turned them around. Rick Nash is playing a complete game. Michael Peca is putting the puck in the net and still one of the best penalty killers. Zherdev is starting to play a little better. Ron Hainsey has been a surprise on the blue line. And they're sitting third in the central division. Just a big turn around for the Blue Jackets. Another good two way defenceman on there team at the trade deadline and they could maybe storm their way into the playoffs.

Zubov for the Norris!

Leclaire is in no way outshining the likes of Luongo and Lundquist, and Nabokov. Leclaire was supposed to be the next big thing, as he was dominant in his Junior days.

Sugar Ray over Hasek any day!
