Ryan Kesler should be in the honourable mentions at least. He is a very good shutdown centre.

For me the choice was simple:

Datsyuk +24
Alfredsson +16
Brind'amour -5

Datsyuk gets my vote.

I think Alfredsson is very, very good defensively, and he has an amazing hockey sense which makes up for his slow skating. Most nights he is playing with offensive-first young guns who are probably not as focused as Zetterberg and Holmstrom on playing all-out two way hockey. When you consider that he is a +16, not only on the kid line but also while being shuffled around and having to learn the right formula for the chemistry all the time -- and still have all the points he does -- I would pick him

Habs get number 25 this year

Alfie slow??!!! Relative to who or what?? Surely thy jest. He is probably in the top 10% of NHL players in speed.

Anyways, stayin on topic, Zetterberg even though he is not listed.

When I voted on this, I did not take in to account points. I took in to account, hitting, forecheck, ability to get back on the play, players that play SH - and do it well. +/- was looked at, but not a main factor.
