Crazy hypothetical question, but hey, why not? I'm 13, it's part of my contract, too be somewhat loopy.

Gretzky just recorded his 100th coaching win this week, which lead me to think: imagine if Wayne nabbed even ONE coaching record. And hey, why not? Imagine being the best player and in some degree, the best coach too!

Now, I think wins is way out of the question. Games, probably also out of the question. I don't really know what is left but just think, what is stopping Gretzky from continuing for another 25+ years as a coach.

How crazy would that be!

If he wants a shot at any coaching records he's going to have to get the GM to trade him, Carcillo, Doan and some cash for Mike Babcock.

Isn't Gretz the GM too? Or is that owner?

Don Maloney is their GM, Gretz is a part owner though....if he was GM he would have traded himself already.

Anything is possible...

Gretzky is actually ahead of Bowman at this point in his career for wins. Bowman got his 100th win with the third win in his fourth year as a coach. Gretzky has obtained his 100th win 3/4 the way through his 3rd season.

For Gretzky the journey is just starting. Bowman moved to Montreal were he averaged 52+ wins for the next 8 seasons, that may be a tough feat for Phoenix...

Personally I do not see Gretzky coaching for the next 30 seasons, so Bowman's record is safe for now. He will move into a GM role in the near future...

Hey! there is no need to get nasty! i'm gonna stick up for my buddy alex here. He knows a lot more about hockey than most people on these forums. his posts are intelligent, fun, and he seems like a very nice guy in general. If you can't accept that a 13-year-old may have more hockey knowledge then you, then we don't need you filling up the forums.
