A place to post some great hockey clips. Let's say pre 1990 at least.

Here's a great one to start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kX7xLCuhEl8&feature=related

Note: Bobby Orr blocking a Bobby Hull slap shot.

The no look pass to Espo at the beginning is a beauty too.

Also note how many guys Orr draws with him. It was the only way they could check him. Gangland style. It usually didn't work. He's got three guys with him and still sets up a goal.

Good idea willus.

Who is the commentator at the start. When I hear his voice it reminds me of Sunday afternoon NHL games...

GREAT clips Willus. Cheered me up after a tough day!

I like some of the comments made below the clip too.

You see Pain Train - it's not just Willus and I who think Orr was the best ever.

The one below is painful to watch for me, but I have to admit that it's kind of cool.

Wow, all I can say. I truly regret not being born in the 60's. I almost never watch old-time hockey and it's amazing how something as miniscule as a 1-minute video could change you opinion on hockey. A question to the older members: How regularly did a play like that happen? Reminded me alot of Kovalchuk's goal this year.

I've watched almost every clip I can to watch Orr. And I must say, each time I see him, I think of him even better. For me I think he is the most COMPLETE player the NHL has seen. I've seen just as many clips of him doing a good defensive play as he does a good offensive play. Simply fantastic. So now Willus,AndyHack and myself are the ones who think Orr was the best on these forums

Edit- The video Willus supplied will also help the fact of the second assist rule. Orr went around the net with 3 people on him he makes a gorgeous feed to Esposito and then he passes it to the other Boston player. It all started because of Orr.

This is a cool video of Bobby Orr. I notice how many give and go's he did with his team mates. People could say he was a puck hog but I believe he did that on purpose, so everyone would follow him and one of his team mates would be open. Cool video.

There aren't many hockey players I liked watching more than Savard.

Too bad the best moment for Orr was not caught on tape. In a game against the California Seals, Orr was killing off a penalty when he lost one of his gloves at centre ice. While holding on to the puck he skated out and put on his glove and then went through everyone on the opposing team and scored. People have said it was the best goal Orr ever scored.

No cup for Dino, what a shame

It's my dad's birthday soon (May 20th) and he has been talking forever about getting his hands on a copy of the New Year's eve game between Dynamo Russia and the Canadiens. If anyone can find me the link I would really appreicate it

I would love to find games 1 and 2 of the 1987 Canada Cup series, if anyone can provide a link. I've got game 3. I've heard some people say that game 2 was the greatest game ever (I was young when I saw it, but I remember it being spectacular), and Gretzky said it was the best game he ever played.

Also, I loved the Canada/Soviet rivalry back in this time period, so any games I can find are great.

About a week ago Bobby Orr came to town and we had a big conversation about hockey and such, I was so amazed to meet him but man what a down to Earth kind of guy. He really has one of the nicest personalities the sport has ever had, unlike say St. Patrick (who isn't the nicest character in the world). But yes I got the urge to go and watch some Bobby Orr highlights and this one I found is really good, thought I would share it... what talent this guy had.
