To be an admin is not going to happen. To be a moderator you need to adopt a username and consitently post historically accurate, provoking and compelling posts that are on topic and well written.
I think
*A moderator would never have included that last line*

Having been both an Admin and Moderator myself... an admin is usually the top of the food chain, and often the founder of the site. He, or she generally doles out moderator duties to chosen users who have shown a dedication to the site and/or have a healthy knowledge of the topics contained therein.
An admin has full control of all aspects of the site, whereas moderators are given selected access to various areas of the site. Moderators tend to monitor other users for abuse of the site, such as foul language, post-whoring, and are even sometimes given the almighty 'Ban' power. |

Guest 7640, Great to hear you are taking an interest within this site. All the members should be supportive and guide you in accomplishing your goal.
Sounds like you are not getting the help required. By the sounds of the replies first quit your job (or spend all day on hockey sites during work, and once you get fired) then sit around and study hockey.
Wow what a life. |

Excuse me Guest6196, but I am a school aged child who is off today and have not seen a single post from the admin or moderators during the normal working day. These people take their FREE time to do a service to the hockey fans on this site, and you come along and snub them.
I feel that was unwarranted and out of place.

Hey gang.
There is no hard and fast rule here but merely a few guidelines.
To be Admin you have to be employed by our parent company Netgenetix Media (www.netgenetix.com)
As for Moderators, this is a volunteer position. We do want to make sure that the people who are moderating are knowledgeable about the game. We want them to be reasonably diplomatic (although they are still entitled to their opinions they should try to separate them from their moderation duties) They have to have been an active and well respected member of the forums. And they have to be able to commit a reasonable amount of time to spend on the site to keep an eye on things (but there is no set time frame). Moderators must be over the age of 25. We currently are not requesting any new moderators.
Leigh has been at this site since Sept 2002 Beans has been here since Nov 2006 Willus has been here since Dec 2006 Bablaboushka (who is MIA) has been at the site since some time in 2005
Cheers!

I think if Fly4aPuckGuy stuck around he would have made one of the best moderators because he truly stuck out of the forums unless he was 100 percent konwledgeable in the topic and could offer a new piece of insightful, well written hockey literature. Where did he go?
