Poll Question:
With the exception of Peter Forsberg, no clear cut rental players have been traded this year. Why?

Choices:
Too many contenders to blow picks
GMs are trying to find a balance
None of the players up for grabs were rental style
GMs are looking for players to build around
Sundin''s comments had an impact
Other

I think teams don't want to lose so many picks like last year When Atlanta gave up so many draft picks for Thachuk.

I personally think that if you look at it, there are 8 teams that could easily win the cup with their pool of talent, I listed them in other threads, I will again for conveenince sake

Anaheim
San Jose
Dallas
Detroit
Ottawa
Colorado
New Jersey
Pittsburgh

Why should any of these teams throw away their future when they have such stiff competition? The only team that really threw away prospects in my mind was Pittsburgh, the rest found alternate ways to buff up and it will help them in the end. I think it is rare to see so many good legitatmite contenders for the cup.

Habs get number 25 this year

I'd consider Hossa a rental player.
