i had an idea for this forum. we can have a trivia contest.
take 20 contestats. once i get 20 people ill put them against eachother and we'll make them answer trivia questions. and the first one to 4 questions right(same as nhl playoffs like first to 4 wins) moves on to the next round and see who is the smartest member on the site
and will win the stanley trivia cup lol
should we do it?
just an idea
and if this works please
DO NOT USE INTERNET. were trying to find the smartest hockey member not the biggest idiot

Just an idea, have each of the two going head to head post 4 questions each that the other person has to answer, the first to four wins...
They will have to agree to be on at the same time, and post the questions at the same time, and if there is a wrong answer it counts as a win for the other participant...
This way the better the player the tougher the questions, no different than in a hockey game, it will not be who the fastest is it will be who the smartest is...

the problem is the internet. People will have to use the honor system and not cheat so we really know smartest member on site.

Well with the system I mentioned in my last post it would be up to you to come up with questions that someone cannot google so easily...
This way you need to know where the information is, how to get it, books, parents, internet, whatever you feel, but you have to be right...

So, I'm thinking when we get 16 combatants it's a go...right? 16 is the right number. Maybe Leafsfan should adjudicate the whole affair. He could/should arbitrarily decide the seedings and we do a 16 then 8 then 4 then 2 elimination?
I am totally into this idea, btw. And I will play Alex first if you wish. 16th seed vs. 1st if you so wish. |

it would work just like the 2nd round onward in the NHL playoffs, right?? Yes it wouldn't be nearly as fun, but it would work.
Maybe poke some of the guys in the other topics? Try something like,"Hey, nice answer to that tough question. You're pretty good at the triv...would you like to join a triv playoff??"...lol... It's the best I can come up with. |

Well it's 11am here. No sign of shinny ?
Do you think we should borrow from pucknuts' suggestion and just have each of us pose 4 questions ? We could just have either a 12 or 24 hour window to answer the ques's and whoever gets the most correct wins. That way it doesn't hinge on 3 different guys being on at the same time.
I have a couple hundred questions ready for this btw. In waiting for sign-ups, I just started flipping through books and websites
Just triv-hungry, I guess. |
