Love him or hate him, a forum without Alex is dry. That's excatly what's happened here, and even though he may post everywhere he knows his hockey. With the departure of esteemed members like Babs, Mikalova, Semin-Rules and now, most recently ThorntonIsTheMan, the forums aren't the same. Alex makes these forums what they are, and is one of the few people that cannot leave.
Other members should include Andyhack, Beans15,willus, Antroman,LeafsRockPlanet, Leafsfan_101 and leigh. If even a small percentage of these members leave the forums will die. Please, please, noone leave. Or then, sadly, the Pickuphockey forums will be bare.

Yes Alex is a posting fiend! And his hockey knowledge was sure growing. Love the guy and I hope he returns...but....
Actually the forums have mostly slowed down due to the rollover in seasons. Happens every year. Plus the site's server was very slow because there was too much traffic and it couldn't keep up. Now that it is back up to speed the forums will pick up too.
The forums have been around for 5+ years and they will survive, even without Alex  Each year we pick up more new members to fill the spots of old members that move on. Case in point, Babs left a year ago and Beans picked up the slack. I just talked to Beans and he's just been a little busy with work so had to take a little break. And, I haven't been posting much because I had to help with the web site rollover to the new season (wow that was a busy time!). Andyhack and Willus are probably too busy watching old Bruins playoff tapes, knowing those guys! haha!
SO anyway, my point is that all is well with the forums, they just cooled down a bit. Let's see if we can get them rolling again. It's time for a new Feature Poll for one thing, who's got a good one? If so, start posting one.

That is a pretty insulting and disrespectful thing to say about the rest of us. |

Doesn't help that most of the active threads are locked for members only. This probably has caused some guests to abuse the ones they are allowed to post, with multiple non-sensical posts.
I'd like to sign up but I can't. I'd like to make some comments on the debates, but I can't.... Oh well, I'lll just sit on the sidelines. |

I've seen this happen on different sites a popular member will leave and eventually someone will step up and take over somewhat as the Forum Chief ( i just made that up ) so its not like the forum will be done forever. Alex was a knowledgble poster and it would be great if he comes back.

Nothing should be locked for members only. Can you point me to one that is so that I can unlock it please. Thanks.
And you should be able to sign up. Just click on the "register link at the top left just below the pickuphockey.com logo. If there is a problem with it let me know to so we can correct it. Thanks! |

| Forums don't survive on one person. Pickuphockey has a lot of knowledgeable members that make a lot of interesting talks. I like Alex, and I'm not worried that he's going to leave. |

OK, I was trying to stay out of this. Don't want to inflate my post count on meaningless posts. But I will post here and edit it to reply from now on.
No, I have not gone anywhere. I am just a little less jumpy to hit the 'post new reply' button. I am definitely still active though, and have been editing a lot of my old posts to keep games like 'Top 30 Post LockOut' going.
I am a little busy lately as is everyone but no worries, I'm not going anywhere any time soon. I will be away this weekend and next probably, but no big breaks for me from PickUpHockey!
I think if you look at my post archive, recently, I have done a pretty good job at making posts valuable and worth reading. I'm almost a vet. and I want to be a worthy one.
I appreciate your concerns guest. Really, I actually smiled reading it. I'm glad I have become one of the ''regulars'' over here and am getting recognized. But don't worry I am not going anywhere!
And also, I do agree with the guest that key members' departure can put a big cramp on the site. Since Fly4ApuckGuy, Babs and Mikhalova have gone, along with Willus, Leigh, Admin, Beans, Andyhack and Antroman being far less active, the site has seen a lot of garbage posting. I can not reply to posts that say ''Pokemon Porn'' and things like this!
I have made an effort to invite some buddies on to the site, with not many results. NashPreds and Colarox are my buds, but are not so active... what can you do?
That being said, Leigh / Admin know what they are talking about. I'm sure soon enough, the annoying guests will see a drop and the head honchos around here will return 
Who knows, maybe one day I will be included in that ''head honchos'' category! But for now I'm just Alex, and will post on topics I feel deserve attention and I feel knoweledgable in, or I feel I can contribute to.
