What a great draft so far some trades to report.

Olli Jokinen to the Coyotes for Ballard, Boynton, and 49th overall pick
Cammaleri to Flames for some draft picks
Tanguay to Habs for draft picks.

Interesting Flames get upgrade in Cammaleri over Tanguay
Jokinen gets trade wish but to Phoenix is this any better then Florida?
Tanguay goes to habs finally.

Let's not forget Leafs moving up to get Luke Shenn. Great pick and a player that will help us in the future. A player that we can build off of and someone that gives us Leaf fan's hope. Great pick.

I think that Tangauy is a fine hockey player, he just didn't fit right in Calgary. Don't forget the guy had 80 points just one year ago. I think he's a great fit in Montreal, especially if they resign Kovalev.

Cammaleri is in for a rude awaking in Calgary. He has had it easy in LA, but under Keenan he will have to work on both sides of the puck and still produce. It will be interesting.

Jokinen in Phoenix. That is dangerous. Gretz has slowly and quitely built a pretty solid offensive focus team down there in the desert. Doan, Turris, Mueller, Jokinen, Marcel Hossa, Hanzel up from. Jovanovski, Michalek, and Morris are 3 solid d-men, and Bryzgalov is a very capable goalie. That team could turn some heads this year.

Oh, and team wise, Phoenix looks better and younger than Florida

And how about the players they drafted this year, Mikkeal Boedker, Jared Staal, and Viktor Tikhonov, three more highly skilled forwards.

Florida got fleeced in the deal. I thought Jokinen is worth more than 2 defencemen in the 2nd and 3rd pairing and 2nd rounder. He is worth at least a top 2 defencemen, a depth forward and a high draft pick. Martin is trying to get himself fired.

Jokinen is cap friendly for the next 2 years. BTW, I don't see anyting special with what they drafted this year. Solid picks mind you but nothing special. Phoenix is rising but not enough to make the playoff this year.

Cammaleri is only an upgrade to Tanguay in cap hit and age. Not sure if he is an upgrade talent wise.

Tanguay in Montreal solidifies one of their top 2 lines. He doesn't hurt them speed wise either. Sign Kovalev for no more than $5M for 2 years (per season) and see where this goes.

Was Pierre Mcguire ever thrilled when the leafs traded up and later drafted Luke Schenn. Fletcher did his job and also made a good solid pickup in Jamal Mayers.

Tanguay to the Habs I love it. I really think a line of Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev could be really dominant, since A.Kostitsyn and Plekanec are a year older now they won't need Kovalev as much and throw Higgins on that line. If we get Sundin I wonder what the mix will be?

If Sundin is picked up by the habs here how I see the lines...

S. Kostitsyn-Sundin-Latendresse
Higgins-Koivu-Tanguay
A. Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev
Lapierre-Chipchura-Kostopolous-Stewart-Begin

The fourth line would get swapped around here and there, I liked stewart in his first game, as he showed great energy and some legit scoring chances, I know it was only one game but only time will tell I guess...

The first 3 lines are not in any particular order, I think sundin would help Latendresse and Sergei would be a great set up player to both of them...The Koivu Line, Higgins and Koivu play very well together and Tanguay to that and it could be dangerous, all in all, this is just speculation, as we have not signed Sundin, But if we do we will have 3 very threatening offensive threats...

To along with them first 3 lines we may have one of the most exciting checking lines in the NHL and I thought Stewart played awesome as well

No way Kovalev is on the 3rd line. I'd bet anything on that.

You obviously didnt read what I wrote, I said the first 3 lines are in no particular order...But then you say kovalev would not be on the third line, As a long time captain I dont think Koivu would want to be on the third line, As a big free agent signing (thats If Sundin Chooses to come here) I doubt Sundin would want to play on the third line...So These players will have to suck up there ego and play on whatever line there put on...I think of the lines as 1a,1b,1c, but only time will tell how it works out...

The Canucks added Kyle Wellwood today.

A like this pickup for the nucks, hopefully he can stay healthy and get back on track.

How about the leafs also buying out Tucker thats interesting. I Wouldn't be surprised to see Tucker go to the Rangers and Avery come to Toronto.

I don't think that Cammalleri is an upgrade on Tangauy either. Ultimately, Tanguay's game did not fit the style that Calgary plays and that was the biggest issue.

However, even looking that the numbers of both while in Calgary.

Tangauy's first season in Cowtown was a PPG campaign with 81 points and 22 goals in 81 games. His second season was not as good with 58 points and 18 goals in 78 games. This season, with Montreal (injury plagued) he has 41 points and 16 goals in 50 games. He was on pace for a 70 point season on an 8th place team.

Cammalleri definately has a strong season with 82 points and 39 goals in 82 games. But is that not exactly on par with Tanguay's first season with the Flames??? more goals, definately, but an 80 point season is an 80 points season.

Personally, I don't see Cammellari as a huge upgrade if one at all.
