Here are my picks: I might not like some of them but I'm trying to think "objectively" :P
MVP: Thornton (I think the playoffs might have done Jagr and Kiprusoff in) Calder: Ovechkin Vezina: Kiprusoff Norris: Niedermayer Selke: Fisher (Supreme penalty killer, awesome +/-) Byng: I wish Marleau could get it, not just because I like the Sharks but because I feel he is heavily underrated. He has even continued to lead SJ in the playoffs. But I think Richards will get it again. Adams: Ruff
MVP: Thornton Calder: Ovechkin/Crosby should share it Vezina: Kipper Norris: Lidstrom Selke: Brind'amour Byng: Richards Adams: Ruff
I know what you are saying about the playoffs doing in Jagr and Kipper, but keep in mind the NYR tanked when Jagr went down with the injury - supports his nomination as MVP. Although the awards are not based on playoff performance it is difficult to consider only the regular season at this time of year. Either way - Thornton is both the best player in the league and most valuable to his team.
I'm just glad that Thornton won the Hart and Ovechkin the Calder but I was disappointed that Niedermayer didn't win the Norris because I thought he was more than deserving.
I loved Ovechkin's speech last night. His broken english is awesome yet he still seems to say all of the right things. I kind of lost what he was saying when he started talking about the women who cooks for him and does his laundry. Funny stuff.
