ok, hate to upset some kaberle fans, but as a defenceman, hes horrible hes the biggest wuss in the NHL(maybe a little overexaggerated) but he wont take a hit or give out one. its like he's asleep all game long and doesnt do anything, except make some nice passes to players. and why can he do that? because he has magic hands with the puck. now if they were to make him a forward, he can the handle a the puck to deke around players, and use his speed to not get KILLED. plus adding to that considering of that beautiful accurate shot he has(which we learned he had at the Skills Comp), which he never uses, could help them alot as kaberle being a forward(if he would shoot the puck more!). so think about how much more points he would get. he can score goals with that shot he uses, plus he can make nice plays with his good puck handling skills.
what do you guys think?

Wow, a tad bit harsh LeafsFan, although Kaberle has not played his best for a couple of years, he still can be one of the best first pass defensemen in the game. He still is one of the best at reading the play as it develops up the ice. Also one of the best at moving the puck through the neutral zone. Now having said that, he has not be one the best at all those things, that made him invaluable to the leafs, for the last couple of years. Perhaps it is the rebuilding and the fact that like most veteran leafs he is not in the situation he wants to be anymore. Kaberle is one of the best assets the Leafs have for trade (if he waves the no trade) so moving him to forward makes no sense, trading him makes a lot of sense, thats why they tried to last year. A change of scenery would do wonderful things for Kaberle, what if Vancouver was to look for that puck moving d-man? |

Kaberle is one of the most consistent defencemens in the game today and your saying he should play foward. Any team in the NHL would kill for a puck moving defencement like him. Sure he might look like the best foward on the leafs but look what they got this year. If you think Kaberle is the worst maybe you should start watching all the giveaways Kubina FInger and the rest give everyday and night |

kabby does the same thing, im not saying those guys are any better i just chose kaberle for this topic because he is such a big baby, and you cant have a dman who wont hit guys, which will cause just as much as a chance for a goal as a giveaway as any other leaf. ive seen a guy standing it the crease and kanerle just stand there because he fears getting hit. i just think he would be better as a forward, if hes not going to hit people.

Lidstrom, the number one d-man in the league rarely ever hits. He plays the body and moves guys around but he hardly ever hits. Never really has. |

very true leigh, but im sure if somebody was infront of the net in the crease he would knock him down and take the puck, or ive even seen kaberle with the puck, a guy comes at him and he might skate away. im not saying kaberle, as tiny and weak as he is, should be killing people but the leafs dont have many d-man who will really hit, except for hollweg(whos not a defenceman) , i guess shenn does too bout his 6'2 220 lb.

They might as well turn him into a forward because he sucks defensively he's only good offensively |

i disagree with Kaberle being the biggest wuss in the NHL, that would go to Crosby he's the biggest baby in the league if you touch him he whines and whines and whines and when you're not looking he'll give you a cheap shot from behind. |

You can't expect Tomas Kaberle to be everything a D-Man should be all wrapped up in a nice little package. He uses his smarts to position himself in between the puck and the player, or the net and the player. He is awesome and using his stick to check players and often is able to skate himself out of trouble and make a smart play. He is obviously not a physical prescence and will never be one, but to say he isn't a good d-man is ridiculous. The guy is a freakin All-Star and the best D-man on the team. Think about how many guys there are in the league who can bang bodies around and kick ass, but cant handle a puck to save their life. You take the good with the bad, and Kaberle definatley has more good.
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E". |

Kaberle is not the best D-Man on Toronto that goes to the Rookie Luke Schenn. Kaberle is the best offensive D-Man on Toronto I will give him that |

Kaberle is a super puck moving defense. If he left defense the puck wouldn't come out of Toronto's zone. Plus he could score a lot on Defense if he'd take more point shots. He has an amazing shot, If i recall he won the accuracy competition last year at the all-star game. |

He does have an awesome shot. I wish He would shoot more. When he does shoot he always seems to score. I guess he don't want to be selfish he like to be a playmaker |
