These montreal players do not deserve to be starting. Kovalev has not played well at all this year. Komisarek and Markov have been alright, but everybody else on that list has been better. Thomas deserves to start in net for the east.

If I just went down that head to head list the advantage goes too....
10-7-4 for the East....as far as which team comes together for the win, who knows...it's a ridiculous game. |

Hey Nashvillepreds, no doubt many would agree with you, but let's keep this chat about the winners of the game. Check out this thread to talk about the crazy all star voting system instead: http://www.pickuphockey.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5467

Sorry, I didn't see the thread. The east will still win. The West has a few good players and the rest are OK. The east is full of talent, excluding a few of those Montreal players. Neverless, it will still be a close and high scoring game. I predict the final score to be 7-6 for the east in the game. The skills competition is wide open.

Please tell me what NHL - wait hockey franchise period - that wouldn't want this as their starting line up. Tell me.

You wanna explain this one to me??
Markov is the 3rd highest scoring d-man in the league, in fact he is only 2 points off the lead. How is that not worthy??
Further, Price has a record of 16-4-5, a .921 sv% and a 2.30 GAA. That also sound pretty worthy to me. |

I agree that Markov, and price are both deserving BUT Kovalev, really i mean come on he has 32 points the same amount markov has, Ovechkin 54, Savard 52 , Thorton 52 i mean come on a starter no way |

the voters definitely screwed up their choices for starting lineup, they missed all of the best players, becasue montreal players are just plain bad. But they will still likely win because the voters messed up the west even worse, GIGUERE ARE YOU KIDDING ME, might as well put theodore or sabourin in, like seriously cmon |

Wow, that game actually had alot of intensity compared to the usual game. At the end no one wanted to lose, Malkin even got hit. What a shootout, Kovalev the winner in the shootout and MVP, I guess he proved why he was voted in. Nonetheless awesome game and I hope it is just like this.
Also what a move by Kovalchuk on getting Ovie and Malkin in alone and settling the score there, they are both too good to be on bad terms, and they end up making a big joke in the Breakaway challenge. That being said, I hope the intensity is still there when they play. |

No idea what that second paragraph meant. But I was just going to say the same thing about Kovalev... definately proved his skills, and it wasn't like he had more ice time than any other forward.
I'd almost have given the MVP to Thomas though. He made some huge stops at the end, plus 2 shoot out stops (or did nash just miss the net?), anyways he played pretty solid at the end of the third, OT and the shootout. |

Well, I dno if you have been following or not but Ovie and Malkin have been known to have bad blood between them, and when all of the players got to Montreal Kovalchuk took the aside and basically told them that they are going to play on the russian team for many years to come and could make alot of history with the talent between them all. So they argeed, shook hands and settled things. |

ohhh... cool, that's interesting, you normally don't think of Kovalchuk in that type of leadership role. I've always liked Kovalchuk, even more now. |
