Thanks for the article Pasty.
Interesting how quickly the KHL dove to mediocrity. 2500 fans at an all-star game? Not exactly the WHA is it? Looks good on Jammy though...take the money and to hell with the Stanley Cup...oh wait he did that with Washington too...how silly of me .

That's funny. I just have one quick thing to say on this last "Jammy" comment.
Let me set this up:
-You have maybe 2 years of quality hockey and 4 years of total hockey left in your career. -You have 2 Cup Rings, a Hart (a finalist 5 other times), 5 Art Ross', 3 Pearsons, Names NHL 1st team All Star 7 times and 2nd Team once, two Olympic Medals (Gold and Bronze), and named #37 on the revered Top 100 all time player list only 8 years into your career, played with some of the most gifted talent to ever play hockey, and were part of arguable one of the best NHL teams in history. -You are in the top 10-15 in every important offensive record list. -You have a 1200+ game NHL career. -You've always had the intention of finishing your career in your home country on the team your father owns.
Now, you have two offers on the table:
Offer One is for one year and about $6 million in North America
Offer Two is for 2 years and a reported $35 million closer to your home country where you spend the off season and plan to live after your done your career.
Let me say this a clearly as I can, in my humble opinion, considering everything involved, ANYONE WHO WOULD TAKE OFFER NUMBER 1 IN THIS CASE NEEDS TO BE PUT INTO A STRAIGHT JACKET BECAUSE THEY ARE INSANE!!!!

Whew....that was more than you actually needed, to have my noggin nodding in agreement. I would be the last to belittle Jaromir's accomplishments and talents. I simply think, or think simply, depending on the topic, that there were times when Jagr could have been even better than he was, both as a player, and a leader, hard as that is to believe. That, has always left a wee bit of a sour taste with me is all... By all means, who wouldn't take the cash and head on home. I only hope the league is stronger than it's inaugural season shows, otherwise the 6 mil and potential cup run, may not have looked so bad. |

Jagr, recently said that he'd consider playing for either Pittsburgh or the Rangers for the league minimum...
Maybe he'd like to raise the cup on ice just one last time. |
