According to the Vancouver Sun, Trevor Linden will sign with the Vancouver Canucks before training camp. He will most likely get between $500-800,000. It seems Nonis has to take care of a few more contracts first, and since Linden has made it pretty clear he wants to play in Vancouver, I think Nonis can take his time.

I like the idea of having Linden back. He is gritty, defensively responsible, and wears his heart on his sleeve.

for 500 maybe, but 800 I don't think so. I've read he is a strong leader but his contribution on the ice is well past its prime. Save the cash and keep Carter. (not for 3.5 mil though) Mind you, I don't know how much cap room they have.

Linden's on-ice contribution has been overrated since the Bure/Mogilny days. It's his off-ice persona, largely due to his status in the NHLPA that has made him seem like a big money player, when all he is is an average third-line center. Now you Vancouverites might not like my assessment, but that's fine, you stay true to your team like I would for mine.

I say 750k tops.

Solid assessment

I agree 750K tops. I think Trevor would agree he is not worth a penny more at this stage of his career.
