This is purely for fun. If you each team could pick up one player from their division, who would win the Stanley cup? Salaries are not a factor, just what the team would look like. I think Detroit getting Mason from Columbus or Pittsburgh adding Parise.

Interesting topic Larrydavid.
I don't think Detroit needs to pick up a goalie. They got it done last year without a great goalie (although I'm not sure why people think Osgood is that bad) For that matter, Detroit doesn't need to pick up any one.
Ok, how about Calgary grabbing Lidstrom. Makes me giddy just thining about it They definitely can score in bundles now (last two games not included!!!) They need some smart, veteran defensemen, not one's that run around all the time (except for Regehr) |

Sorry Beans I wasn't clear in what I was thinking. Who do you think would be strongest by picking up one player from their division. All teams in the division could pick the same player. For example everybody in Washington's division could add Ovechkin. |

Leigh Although Calgary would look good with Lidstrom he is not in their division. I agree Detroit doesn't need anybody Nash would be good there also. |

LOL! Sorry, like I said I was giddy. I guess I was thinking conference. Ok so nothing's change in my thought pattern we'd still need a responsible D-man who can move the puck quickly out of our zone. I guess maybe Willie Mitchell from the Canucks. Obviously not as much scoring upside as Lidstrom, but he's pretty strong in his own end and has been known to move the puck well. Good team guy too. Truthfully there are not that many superstar defensmen in the NW division so I feel a little ripped. |

You're correct, the NW is in a pretty sad state right now in terms of D-men....Maybe Brent Burns to Calgary. |

The cream of the crop in the NW has to be Burn, Visnovksy, Phaneuf, and Souray. Unfortunately, 2 of those guys are injured and the other 2 are fairly one-dimensional. |

Good God Man!! What have you done!!
You've left the door open for Hanley to start his Ryan Miller to Toronto so they can win the cup rants!!!!
Actually, imagining Pronger as a Shark sounds dominant.
Iginla as a Canuck could also make them favorites.
Brodeur as a Flyer would be interesting.
Lecavalier as a Capital.
neat thoughts....change the whole complexion like that. |
