Thanks to Beans' sagely advice yet again, we will be progressing. Whoever is leading in votes in the other debate (Debate Four) by the end of this one moves one.
Which brings me to this debate, a little more original than our last one and I think one where you can go in many more different directions.
Porkchop73 will be debating DangleFest89 on the topic of The Bertuzzi Incident. (For those of you unclear, we are talking about the sucker punch on Steve Moore.)
One side will be debating that the punishment he received was too little / adequate, while the other side will be debating that it was adequate / too much. Both of you please post your stance and your preference for post order (first or second). If there's a conflict, Porkchop gets his post order preference while DangleFest gets to decide what side to debate.
EDIT: Anyone hear from Porkchop lately?

Last time we had a guest in a debate it didn't work out so well (still no hear, no see.) Would you by any chance be willing to set up an account? It's free and takes two seconds. who agrees with me that this is taking way too long? we should have a vote on if we should wait for someone else to sign up or give the win to Danglefest showing up and move on to the next debate...

As for Hanley's post: The reason this is a contest is because you need to do something to win it. I'm not rewarding people for showing up. If it means we wait, so be it. Alex their were a couple other debaters that won simply because the other never showed up, You happened to win because your opponent never showed up as well... Now why the change??????
This wait has been the longest yet. It's gone long enough and still nothing. Seriously, it's time to move on |

That being said, it has lost steam and I will tell you all that in about 3 weeks I am going to have little to no time to spend debating on here about anything. I have doubts this will get done in time.
Maybe we can get the next debate going while this one is in limbo?? |

I never won, thank you very much. My debate was postponed. Give it a rest.
Look, I get that it's frustrating. I get that you want to act on impulse and move things forward, allow anyone to join, give everyone a bye and what-not. But that's not how it works. If we need to wait until next season I'm happy to do that, but I really don't want to see guys move on unless they've done it through a debate. |

Gentlemen, I apologize. I have been away, far away actually. I am back for a short period before I am to return. I can debate quickly if you wish Alex, Danglefest. Again I apologize, I realize the fustration this caused.
I am a little out of the hockey loop because there is not much media in the middle of China. So imagine my surprise that when I returned I find Carolina beating out Boston last night and the leafs hadn't made the playoffs (LOL).
I hope you will still allow me to debate I will take Bertuzzi's punishment was adequate/too much with a preference of going second.
Once again I apologize to all members. I missed the forums and most of the insightful posts on here. Pretty sad that the first thing I do the morning I get home is check the hockey forum. |
