I think that the Toronto Maple Leafs should trade Vesa Toskla for Carry Price, because they need a better back up golatender. Also it would make more sence if they do because thet would probley make the Playoffs more than they do now.The reason why i`m doing this so all of the Montreal Canadians Fans could kind of get a sgin of Toronto Maple Leafs getting a better goaltender. This would make perfect sence if they do because this would make them have a better chance at the playoffs. This would mean alot of DERT for MONTREAL CANADIANS, because i would LOVE to see it DONE. I would love to see Carry Price in the nets for the Toronto Maple Leafs and in the nets for the Toronto Maple Leafs inb the playoffs.

You're an idiot if you think Carey Price is why the Canadiens made the playoffs in the first place.
Secondly, Toskala is a much better goaltender than Price. Toskala just has no team in front of him.
Thirdly, Toskala isn't the backup goalie. So that would make Price the starter.
Fourthly, the leafs already have many goalies to choose from. Gerber, Pogge (who should get a shot at the backup spot) and Kolzig (who is overrated to say the least). Why would they trade for another overrated goaltender in Price?
I am in no way a Leaf fan. But when I see someone who can't spell and obviously can't think, I need to speak my mind. So please, think before you type/speak.

Firstly, you must have been drunk when you wrote this. Secondly, that is obsurd, the Habs are banking so much on Price. They would never trade him for some dead weight border line starter goalie who Price is already better then. Throw in some more from T.O and we would have to look more into it. Bottom line this trade wouldn't happen ever straight up, more assets needed. |

Precisely. The Habs are banking on Price a little too much. He can't handle the pressure come playoff time or anywhere near the trade deadline. If I were the Canadiens I would put more onto the back of Halak. I'm just not sure if his contract is up or what not. But to me Halak is the better of the two.
As for Toronto's situation. Pogge has been called the next "Patrick Roy" or the next "Martin Brodeur" for a couple years. Now I don't believe this is the case personally, but you gotta give the kid a chance to succeed.

kk . Listen up. Im a hardcore fkn leafs fan and I live in toronto. I would love to see the leafs pick up price. Hes still f***ing young and theres too much pressure in montreal for a young goalie like him, and i doubt that hell be staying with the habs much longer after that little arm gesture he made after being destroyed by the bruins in the playoffs. The leafs would be fkn lucky to pick him up. Gerber=Overratted. Pogge=Proven that he sucks nuts. Joseph=Too old. The leafs are rebuilding and they need a good young guy, hint hint, Carey Price. |

It's nice to see a Leafs fan make a comment like this and understand that Price is definitely an asset for the Habs. While i'm not a huge Habs fan, i don't hate them either and i don't see them giving up on Price just yet, UNLESS there's something pretty sweet going their way in return. I see the same with Pogge as i do Price. Both young, both highly touted and both playing in big time hockey cities! Only difference thus far is that Price has had some success in the regular season at least but lets also realize, his team in front of him has been MUCH better than the one Pogge's been playing behind in his limitted action! If i were the Leafs or Habs GM, i wouldn't be giving up on either of these "kids" just yet..... |

Pogge's still got a long way to go. He definitely couldn't handle the pressure in the Calder Cup playoffs this year. |

Simply...no. The Leafs would have to give up way too much to get Price in reality. On my NHL 09 I might make this trade work but not in real life. Also Toskala is going to be given one more year to prove he can be the starter...so maybe we can discuss this next year if the Canadiens and the Leafs both miss the playoffs...which won't happen to the Leafs.

Of course they should if that deal could ever be worked out. I don't think Montreal is that dumb though. You think Toronto has contravercy in goal now, wait till Tukka Rask wins 20+ wins next year as the backup in Boston. |

I don't want Toskala or Price... They are both overrated and they give up too easy... Toskala for Halak and I'd say Toronto is getting the better deal... If that ever happened Toronto would finally have a good goalie since Belfour... And Montreal would have two sieves fighting for number 1 spot... Who would you pick if you were Jacques Martin to be your starter? The blind, give up easy goals day in and day out Toskala or the Mr I don't want to play hard today because I just don't feel like it, ooops there goes another bad goal Price?????? |

I wouldn't say it won't happen to the Leafs, I love the Leafs so it hurts me to say that The Leafs won't have a chance on the playoffs as long as Toskala is there... They need to get rid of him plain and simple |

I am sorry to say, well not really, that Toronto may not make the playoffs for another 2 to 3 years when their draft picks actually start doing something for them. The only thing working in Toronto right now is Brian Burke. Good head on his shoulders and knows his minor league players. It is a shame I heard today that they will not be resigning Pogge. They needed to give the kid a chance in net to succeed. Their best chance at anything right now is to trade Toskala straight up for some draft picks for this year or next year and resign Pogge and throw him in net. Even if he has a bad season, he will gain from the experience and his second year will be better. Not to mention you could probably get a 2nd and 3rd round pick for Toskala which is a forward and a defense man. I mean my plans for Toronto would be more drastic.... All players are fired and hire new ones. Cause they really suck. It's stupid to have a great coach like Wilson sitting there with clumps of stool skating around the ice. Start fresh. They don't make the playoffs for another 5 years at that rate, but it's not like they will lose any money. They sell out every game no matter what.

career
vesa toskala 32 years old wins 120 lost 70 sv % 905 gaa 2,67
Carey price 21 years old wins 47 lost 28 sv $ 9,12 gaa 2,71
At 21 years old... need i say more? i dont feel like checking stats for everyone but i dont even think the elite goalies that ever played in the nhl had those kind of numbers before 21 years old. Pll jump on price but the kid is 21 years old. Heck.... marc andree fleury f***in sucks before last year.... I WONDER WHY he was under 22. PRICE had way superior numbers than fleury had when fleury was 21. look at fleury now. Give him a few yrs and you will see an elite goalie and all u price haters will swallow ur hate |
