I'll stand up for them, a little bit.
They do ALWAYS show up to make the playoffs. I think other than 2 of the last 10 years they went at least to the second round. And hey, 2 stanley cups. When Colorado comes into your city your never think cake-walk. When you have Sakic, Hejduk, Svatos, Liles etc. You can do some good things. Look at their stats, Their scoring is spread out pretty well, Their top 9 guys have over 10 points each (15pt average) Not many teams can boast that

I sort of like the Avs...only cuz of Sakic though. So I guess I'd be the "one-and-a-half"th Avs fan

there are alot of avs fans in the hockey world, it's just that this year they aren't doing as well...they set a pretty high standard for themselves when they came into the league so it's hard for them to stay at that high level.

First off most of the Avs "fans" are pretty casual about it. The idea of spending time posting comments on a hockey web page just wouldn't pop into their heads. As far as the team goes, we had a bad year, missed the playoffs by 1 point! But, we'll be back in it next year. And we weren't playing mediocre in two of the four games against the Sharks. We were 5-3 against the Flames, and 4-4 with the Oil, during a crappy year. I'll give Calgary and Edmonton both credit, the fans are crazy, and I'd love to see any game in both stadiums.
Not trying to pick a fight, just sticking up for my team, and the few true Avs fans out there. |

Colorado is one of my favourite teams for a couple of reasons:
1. I like their players. I think they have some great players that have bieng doing great for the Avalanche and some players will do great in the future.
2. I like their style of play. I think Colordao has some really great players that connect well with eachother and gives everyone a chance. They don't just give it to Sakic and hopes he scores. They pass and all play well through all 4 lines. They aren't a cry baby team either. They play fair and aren't cheap.
And I like their city and logo but those aren't really reasons

They are alright...and i can say that since the wings avs rivalry fizzled out i dunno they just arent the same team without forsberg and Roy...among other amazing guys that went through that team...but now they aren't that same elecrifying team that we cheared against in my mind
