| That is one of the worst arguments I have ever heard. Just because the Ducks and the Stars lost to teams with worse records then their own, doesn't mean that they themselves are poor teams. It takes talent to go on a five game win streak even if you are playing against teams with relatively low records. Look at a relatively similar Penguins who went from the worst in the NHL to above .500 and it's not like last year Carolina went 82-0 in regular season and 16-0 to win the cup. It's professional hockey, all teams are good but some are SLIGHTLY better. Besides, if you want to take a professional opinion, every single sports analysist on Canadian broadcasts said that Calgary was the ONLY canadian team to improve from where they were at the end of last year, most online sports rankings predicted Flames ending up 3rd in the western conference and no professional questioned whether the flames were going to make the playoffs before the season started. Besides, this has just turned into Calgary's routine. Does no one remember the 4-7-2 starting record of last year? Then the eight game win streak and Calgary ending up 3rd in the western conference. I'm not saying that will happen again but you can't discount a streak because of the teams they've played. |

settle down fellas. We're all entitled to our opinions and even the boo birds have a place in my threads, however misguided they are. You can say the Flames suck all you want but the fact remains they are on a 6 game win streak against teams from all places in the standings.
To me, that just doesn't suck.  |

Y'know it's really fun to sit back and watch all the Canadians here argue about whether the Flames suck or not, and to listen to the few Canadians at my school do the same thing. As an American I think I'll just sit back and stay out of this  |

| That's a tough one to agree on hating lyall. Most TRUE (not that bandwagon bullsh**) Calgarian fans cheered for Carolina just because of the rivalry between them and Edmonton. At that, I must say I personally hate Nashville. |

This thread is gone way off topic. I think we atta start a new one General Hockey Chat about hating any american team, seeing as we can't all agree.
Back to the Flames.
Leigh your little fire just got snuffed out by none other than the Edmonton Oilers! And it was a hell of a game too. I thought Iginla was gunna get the winner, but Roli came up big.
But hey, 6 games in a row. Not to shabby. |

Hey Lyall and Oil Guy, ya that was a good one. i only saw the highlights and it looked like a wicked game. Did you guys see it? The shots were even apparently, but all the highlights were Flames getting stoned by Roli! he stood on his head and made some huge saves.
Oh well it had to end sometime. Just a small bump and we're back on another roll so I can start a new thread! LOL! |

yes it was a good game but really in typical oil fashion the played just enough to win. man i can not wait to see them put in a full 60 minutes of effort.
