What exactly do you mean by comeback? By playoff berth, I would say yes. But everywhere else, no. On paper, they really should be a power-house. Yet they had a ten game losing streak and seriously need to regroup.
If you look at it, there was a period with Primeau, Roenick and the others, cultivating basically in 04, where they were amazing in the playoffs. Not unbelievable, but they won at least one round for a while, going as far as Conference finals.
Might be off on that, could be biased by them being the team that kicked out the CBC featured Leafs two years in a row, but I think they had a very hard group of guys to beat in a seven game series. They were tough, they were in a small sense, the broadstreet bullies.
Now they buy their teams, and don't get anything out of it. I think that they have fallen and the salary cap / aging of key players may be involved.
