Well, first of all if I was down a goal, I would pull the goalie so I think that Luongo would not be anywhere close to the ice. Neither would Broduer for that matter.
I would put out Crosby, Thornton, Heatley, Nash, Iginla(on the point) and S. Neidermayer.
If they can't get a goal, no one will. |

didnt say where the faceoff was. so if your gonna pull your goalie while the puck is in your end then go coach the U.S. with Burke!

i would take E. Staal over any Heatley, Nash or Thornton out there!! he is a master with the puck and has the hardest snapshot on team Canada. stanley cups 1 vs Heatley, Nash, Thornton 0 Staal is the real deal, Canada needs him to win gold!

I go with Beans on this one. Too mikey boy, Eric will be on the team but, IMO, not the top guy in his position, Center. You would have to take out Crosby and/or Thorton to fit him in and after the playing time Heatly get with Thorton this year they will stick together. By the way if you dont know that Heatly and Nash Destroy other teams best lines in international play look up some news of the last 2-3 years of Worlds play to see what I am talking about. They are the best 2 players in any international tournament I have seen lately. |

One minute left, Canada is down a goal, who do I put out?
Nabakov, Zubov, Markov, Ovechkin, Malkin, and Semin. |

I woulp put Crosby, Iginla and Lecavalier. Lecavalier has one hell of a shot and with Crosby and Iginla he will have all the room he needs. At the point, ill put S. Niedermayer and C. Pronger. Those 2 got all the experience you need. When I'll pull out the goalie, I would put E. Staal who also got experiences of clutch moments. |

If i were guest 5985, i'd prob choose a couple better defensive forwards than the ones mentioned?
If i were running Team Canada, i'd use Crosby, Nash, Heatley, Iginla and Green and Niedermeyer on the points (with the goalie out) |

Guest 5985 - I really, really like your style . . . funny stuff, you almost made me spill my coffee. Fair enough though!
I can guarantee Zubov (see: old legs) wouldn't be out there, even if he is on the team. Markov, yes. Maybe Volchenkov would be there on D with him. And the Russian forwards? I'd be shocked if Datsyuk were not on the ice in that situation, he's the best defensive forward there for Russia, if not the world. You'd probably have Ovechkin out there too I suppose, maybe Semin.
The face-off is in the Russian zone then, and I pull the goalie and put out these boys: F - Heatley - Crosby (takes the faceoff) - Iginla D - Green - Niedermayer extra forward: either Nash or Getzlaf, whoever has played better that game or in the tournament in general
The goal would happen with 36 seconds to go, and the place goes absolutely nuts!!! Crosby scores the rebound from the point shot from Green after some awesome shots and saves, and you can't hear yourself think at this point. In the ensuing faceoff, Thornton wins and pass of to Carter, who blows by whatever winger happens to be there and puts it top shelf to avoid O/T.
After that, no one is even listening to the commentator!

The people I would put out is:
Forwards - Iginla, Crosby and Heatley(Maybe E.Staal)
Defenses - S.Niedermayer and M.Green
Goalie - Luongo
Thats my predictions if there were 1 minute left in the gold medal game at the olympics.

I would put the six players that have played the best for me in that game. And it would probably be 6 of the players mentioned in this thred. Im not gona put out who I think is the best, I am going to put out the best at the time because you have to be one of the best to play on the team in the first place. |
