C'Mon Framer. Won't Roloson be like 80 in 2010? I think Marty Brodeur will be at the end of his career and will not get it either. My vote is for Luongo with Fleury second.

Roloson is 37 and is still playing well he is either keeping the Oilers in games or winning them......I voted for Giguere, Brodeur and Luongo close seconds

It'll be Luongo, for a couple of reasons. The C.O.C. strives to include one player from every Canadian team on Team Canada. (Unfortunately - or fortunately - Toronto will still suck in 2010 and won't be able contribute)
There is not a Canuck on the horizon who could represent Vancouver in 3½ years besides Luongo. So his spot on the team is already pretty much automatic. Besides, where are the games being held?
Second, no player in the league works on his game as hard as Luongo does. By 2010, he will likely be universally accepted as the best goalie in the league... even if he is on a bad team.

Auld? Are you joking me?

Pogge seems like a reasonable pick for the 2014 Olympics, but I don't think that he'll be Canada's go-to-guy soon enough for 2010. It might be a couple years before he even becomes a starter.

I'd have to say Turco, Brodeur, Luongo unless ward plays like he did last year in playoffs again then he might be on the list

Give your head a shake. Roloson will not be on team Canada. Borat has a better shot at starting for team Khazakstan.

What's wrong with Auld? The kid is young and will be great in a couple of years. I see him as at least a back up for Canada in 2010. He just needs to work out some consistancy issues. When he's hot, he's hot. Unfortunately, 5-17 after 1 in 2 games is not very appealing. However, he still should be considered.

If Giguere can keep his pace this year and another couple, he would have to be number 1 in my books. He's 15-1-5 right now with a 2.14 GAA(5th in NHL) and a .922 save percentage. The only other Canadian Goailes with those type of numbers are, no one! Roloson,Brodeur, and Turco are the next closes. Ward might sneak in there too. But, if Giggy keeps playing strong for the next 2-3 seasons, it's going to be hard to argue with the numbers. Although, he will also be 33 in 2010.

Auld should not even be considered... he has never shown any form of an elite goalie and considering him on the basis that "he's good when he's hot" is pretty weak. Even I'm not that bad when I'm on a hot streak.

Remember all, this is in 4 years. Brodeur will be 38, that's getting to be quite old. He might still be a good goalie but I strongly doubt he will still be the number one.

When roli got hurt last year the doctors said he had the best knees they had almost ever seen other than his injury. He could play for longer than you think.

Roloson should not get considered unless he has 4 Vezina-caliber seasons until the Olympics. He's not off to a good start.

One game?

Boy Roloson sure looks good playing against the lowest-scoring team in the NHL.

When Luongo was pulled it wasn't because he was playing poorly, it was because the defense wasn't meeting their expectations. Sure Luongo didn't steal the game but he didn't lose it either. I guess what im trying to say is that he let in some goals he wish he could get back, the defense definately weren't backing him up, and the forwards werent putting any pressure on the other end. Pulling Luongo was for his sake, not the teams.

The only reason Gigure is wining because he has Scott Neidermayor or Chris Pronger in front of him

Giguere is just wining because of Neidermayer and Pronger. Without Solid D he would be nowhere

Auld is a good backup goalie. No chance in hell he plays on Canada.

I think ward will be on the team other then him not sure maybe luongo but I would like to see him in a playoff type situation with something actually on the line. We know Cam Ward can take the heat.

Cam Ward earned huge browning points by winning the Cup and Conn Smythe last year. If he keeps up even mediocre numbers until the Olympics I think he's guaranteed a spot on the team.

I am quick to say that Giguere is only good with Niedermayer, Pronger and Beauchemin in front of him, because it's true. The thing is that in 2010, (with the exception of maybe Niedermayer), these defensemen if not better would be in front of him...so who knows.

"yea"?? In your previous post you didn't mention Luongo anywhere close to the #1 rank(seeing as how team Canada will probably only have 2 maybe 3 goaltenders and most of those players will be retired or to old). Your posts have always been a little weird with not much insight. As for 2010 goaltenders I'd say Ward, Emery, Luongo, Raycroft Aubin, and Fleury are all good candidates. These goalies, excluding Luongo, will need to step up their game in the next couple of years but I believe they all have the potential.

Wow how can Nobody even say anthing about Fleury?? He may not be the best goalie now but look at his Team, he doesn't have to that often. Also look who he has in front of him on Pittsburghs back end. Any good Defensive Defensemen?? they got Gonchar but his defensive skills are not the greatest.
I voted for Fleury because if They can get him a Top 30 defenseman in the NHL he will do alot better.

I don't think Luongo is the guy. Broduer (if he is still playing) would be there on his historic merit alone. However, he will more than likely take the high road and decline for a younger guy to take the starts. I like Fluery and Giguere. You can argue all you want about who the defense is in front of them. Giguere has faced the 5th most shots in the league. The only goalies that have faced more shots are Luongo, Roloson, Kipprusoff, and Nittymaki. Of that group, only Kipper has a higher save percentage and GAA. In fact, the only goalies with a better GAA and save percentage other than Kipper have faced at least 100 shots less that Giguere. And Fluery is getting better and better, on a team with weaker Defense. I like those two with Luongo being the "Water boy" the third goalies normally is in international competition!
