Datsyuk's deke is the most impressive of the bunch. Malik's may have been the most important for the popularity of the shootout, and is the funniest since he never actually scores in the league.
Nazim Kadri are you serious? Great move and all, but its in the pre-season so who cares? |

I was a huge fan of Datsuyk's as well. I also liked St. Louis's spin-o-rama, Rolston's skate to the hash marks and slap shot, and Jussi Jokinen's.....well any one of his. I liked the "Forsberg" one hand on the stick to the right side of the net while the goalie and player are going left.
Brilliant.
For the dazzle factor, you gotta love Robbie Shremp's lacrosse stuff. But that's absolutely everything that guy had. No real hockey skill(comparative to other NHL players) only dazzle with the stick.

For me this wasn't easy. Kadri's goal was awesome, as was Datsyuks. However, they were somewhat more standard than the others. These, as much as they made the goalie look bad, were dekes you might see in a game. Kopitar's was somewhat the same, and being that it was a copy of the original (Forsberg, at least from what i can recall?), i nixed that one two. That left two very similar stick between the legs dekes, Malik's and Ribeiro's! Now, considering when Malik's occurred, the fact he's by no means known for his offense, i prob should have picked his. However, i chose Ribeiro's. I just thought his was a little trickier in that he came in almost skating backwards at one point. It was a tough call, but i went with Ribeiro's....
Oh, and Shannon's was only good because Khabibulen nailed him afterward! I can't even remember, did they count that goal? The commentators said they were reviewing it? I'm guessing they allowed it? Having said that, he kinda took Khabibulen out no? |

I'm not sure Kadri belongs their My vote goes to one that wasn't their Mike RIbeiro's through the legs versions of the Forsberg

i picked mike ribeiro, but then i looked at every one again and i relized that anze kopitar and marek malik did awesome shootout goals to.Marek malik first shootout goal i think but that pretty good for a person that is very talented but he just showed now he is.

I picked maliks goal because of the context in which the shot was taken. He was like the 11 shooter and nobody could score but he did and he isnt a goal scorer and he made it look like he does it everyday. I also watched the entire game and guessed who would score/ shoot for each team I didnt pick him. lol.

| I'm going to have to go with Datsyuk, just because of how unbelievably smooth his move was. Simple, beautiful, and effective. Not to mention it makes the goalie look like an idiot. |

Datsyuk is the king. He has so many different tricks, and by no means are they easy to pull of, especially at the NHL level.
I hafta say Malik's was hands down the greatest goal ever in the shootout (NHL), ended the longest shootout with that move. Not one person in the building thought he was going to score, and he decides to do a move that has been virtually never tried again in the NHL and score. Great. |

As great as they all were I liked Ribeiro's best; screened the goaile himself. The puck bounced around in the goal for 2 seconds before Budaj had any idea where it was.

I have to go with Marek Malik. As a Rangers fan, i was watching that game & the way things unfolded was just incredible. Both Lundqvist & Kolzig were incredible in the shootout, so when Michael Rozsival finally scored 1 shot earlier, i thought for sure it was over. I can't rememeber which Cap went next, but he scored to again tie it up. Then comes Malik it what, the 15th round or something ridicouls like that. He was the last person i ever thought would try a move like that, and it won the longest shootout thus far. His celebration afterwards was classic too!
There have been nicer shootout goals for sure, and the move Malik did is actually very easy to do, but just the facts that it was Malik & that is was in the 15th round make it a classic. |
