What happens when things slow down at work.....

'Twas the night before Christmas, and through our beloved site,
Not a poster was posting, not posting? Yeah right!
Hockey stockings were hung, by the chimney with care,
and for the really big gifts, Fat Elvis' underwear.

The Leaf fans were nestled, all snug in their beds,
while visions of Stanley Cups danced through their heads,
And Beans in his Oilers hat, and I in same cap,
said give it a rest homers, don't give us that crap!

When out of my bigscreen, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my Lazy-boy, to see what was the matter.
Away from my nachos, popcorn and beer,
I poked at the remote, to hear what I'd hear.

The moon on the breast, of the new fallen snow?,
Makes me think of Pam Anderson, why? I don't know.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
The Stanley Cup finals? At this time of year?

Two teams seeking glory, both seeking the grail,
The Oilers and Penguins, an epic battle without fail.
The announcers were crazy, while calling out the game,
Yelling out in a frenzy, calling out player's names.

Stortini and Hemsky, Gogliano and Staal,
Gagner and Penner, Khabibulin and all.
To the top of the heap, to the cream of the crop,
Keep skating and scoring, and try ne'er to stop.

The action was furious, the pace was non-stop,
The goalies were flopping, the bodychecking had pop.
The defence was stalwart, the offence on fire,
For the Penguins their chances, were looking quite dire.

At last it was over, the combatants all weary,
For various reasons, the players all teary,
The losers dejected, the victors all a- glow,
McGuire analyzing Crosby, how the hell would he know?

His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry,
The captain Ethan Moreau, and the cup that he'd carry.
His gapped tooth smile, Gary Bettman's I mean,
Handing over Lord Stanley, to the victorious team.

The victory skate, had never been sweeter,
Since the days of the Great One, when he was the leader.
I smiled like a child, and thought this is the life,
The Oilers are champions and wait, is that my wife?

Why is she here in Rexall? Wait, why am I?
How did we get here? Did we go and die?
Usually she's lovely, and oozing in class,
But here she is yelling, Wake Up you dumb ass!!

You've spilled all your nachos, popcorn and beer,
Do I look like a maid? Get off your fat rear!
Ahhh dreams are for dreaming, I guess that IS right,

Ahh well, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Haha, this put a smile on my face. great stuff. I can just imagine you sitting at work trying to rhyme everything

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E".

You think I have trouble? Making up rhyme?
My dear friend Matt, I do it all the time?
So easy I'm thinking of going hip-hop.
Try and be cool as a middle-aged pop.
Some big baggy pants, a sideways worn cap,
I've even got my name, just call me K-rap.
