Ottawa could be in serious trouble. Heard that Alfredsson hurt his shoulder the other night? Anyone heard anything on this? Sounds like he could be out a few weeks or more? With Spezza already out, that's gonna sting. I read that the Sens won't be announcing the seriousness till after the mini break for Christmas?

Yeah, from my understanding it happened on a hit from Adams and Gonchar (PIT).
It sounds like it may be a seperated shoulder, which could see him out for 4-6 weeks. He had an MRI done last Thursday, but nothing has been confirmed.
Hopefully it's minor, but we shall see.

| Ouch! That's gonna really make it tough for the Sens to stay in the playoff hunt! They're barely hanging onto a spot right now and without Alfie and Spezza, they're in tough. |

If he's out long term it will not only be a huge blow to Ottawa with Spezza already out but to the Swedish Olympic team as well, Alfredsson is one of the leaders on that team and he would be a huge asset if he can still make it, plus I have him in my draft pool and have been crawling my way back up since Daniel Sedin came back and I really don't wanna fall back down

An Official release was issued today and it's exactly as predicted!
Seperated shoulder... out 4-6 weeks.

| This gives all the up and coming players and opportunity. Might even be enough to light a fire on Kovalev, Cheechoo now that the playing minutes are available on the top scoring lines. At least Neil, Volchenkov and Leclair are finally back. |
