So players have started moving...and what has Edm done? If any team is in need of change it is the Oil. They HAVE to do something to shake up that organization. The vets are content with losing and want to bail ship....you have to show the young players that you WANT to build a winning team...or you will never motivate them. Look at Penner, the guy is tripping over his lower lip all over the ice...the media is saying"what is wrong with Penner?" Well what the hell do you think is wrong? the guy is not good enough to carry the whole dam team! It took everything he had to get himself in a winning mode..Sheesh! Edmonton has got to move some players..and quick. Waiting for the GOLDEN deal is stupid and will not happen. Tamb will end up taking a loss on some players and that is obvious. so suck it up and show the fans that you have the balls to make some crucial rebuilding moves...after all, we do pay all your salaries. That gives me the right to bitch. When I have to drop 500 large to take my family to watch a bunch of babies mope around that kinda pisses me off. I don't care if they lose, as long as the other team had to work their asses off to get the win. Make the other team earn it. Cmon Oil, time to start dumping salaries and underacheivers.

That eye bleeding inducing wall of text hints that the Oilers ought to do some BIG moves a la T.O. Abso-friggin-lutly. Edmonton come benefit hugely from a major shake up or 6!
The arena wall in chicago should be credited with a goal. |

Never helps when Souray breaks his hand on Iggys face that def didn't help but, im kinda happy I wanna keep Souray.
Trades needed
Moreau for 3rd rounder
Staios for PK specialist
Pouliot and Pisani for Faceoff guy
Horcoff for Blake?? or anyway to kill his salary ASAP

| While there is still lots of time for the Oilers to blow things up - the deadline is still a month away - if they don't win a game soon, i don't see how they can possibly sit back much longer before making a move. |

People act like teams out there are just waiting to make super duper deals for crap players. Face it, anything the Oilers got that has value are the players they do not want to trade.
Who wants Pisani or Staios or Moreau??? What would they bring to any team??
You have to have something to trade for something. Don't hold your breath on any Oiler deals. |

If i were the Oilers i'd be spending my time and money scouting the likes of Hall, Seguin, etc. Why make drastic changes now and end up with the 4th or 5th pick and still miss the playoffs? Write this season off, get healthy (Hemsky, Bulin), bring in some ot the youngsters (Paajarvi-svensson, Eberle, etc), draft a potential future star and build from there.
Yeah, def try to off load Horcoff somehow? I mean, if Gainey was willing to take on Gomez's deal, someone may bite at Horcoffs, no? |

Moreau to ughhh I dunno such a bad discipline captain hard to imagine any team taking him hmmm maybe Florida

| Andrew Cogliano is one guy who i think would generate some interest, not sure if the Oilers will ultimately decide to move him or not, but theres always lots of rumors on that front. |

| The rumours from Dreger suggest Moreau + something for Exelby + something. Most logical suggestion I've heard is Moreau + 3rd round pick for Exelby + 4th round pick. |

I would make that trade. Leafs has too many d man right now. And Exelby is UFA at the end of the season. And Moreau is at 1.75 next season. But I don't know if the Leafs need a guy like Moreau. |

This would be a salary dump and in that respect makes sense. Also because it appears Souray and his newly broken hand will require surgery with screws put in so he will more than likely not be back for the rest of the season. This would fill that spot with some beef, which the Oilers sorely lack.
The best thing about this would be the Captain heading out of Edmonton. 3 years ago, Moraeu was all heart and soul and did his job well. The past 2 season, nothing. Leadership dropped big time.
This would shake the Oilers world and would be good move for various reasons. I hope you are right! |

Typical Oilers fan.....
Even fight, Souray falls down and breaks his hand yet for some reason they think that he whooped Iginla's ass when he got hurt from it and Iginla kept on playing and had a four point night.
Flames for cup...eventually. |

@ Beans:
The only problem I can see with it is the fact that the Oil would be downgrading a high 3rd (so high it's effectively a 2nd when you compare it to the Hawks or the Sharks. They need to hang onto those picks to replenish a severely depleted farm team.
I'd like to see the Oil move Staios for parts and a 3rd pick, then flip the 3rd to Toronto to complete that deal. Plenty of playoff teams could use a physical 3rd pairing defenseman to play those ~8ish minutes per night. |

what are talking about??? the oilers have some of the best young players and prospect in the entire N.H.L. they have tons of trade bait pisani moreau are two of the best pk in the league they are also two of the best 3rd liners in the league they have just been dissipated by injuries the last 3 yearsquote:
