It's practically a toss up. Statistically, if you look at the past 4 years, or past 10 years, or past 20 years, or even the past 32 years, it's a 50/50 split between the east and west.
Statistics aside, there is nothing to suggest the east is stronger than the west or vice versa in this year's playoffs.
So flip a coin if you want. It's kinda like a lot of the playoff matchups. For many years, where a team finished in the regular season doesn't always translate into playoff success.
This year will probably be no different. And when we get to the cup finals, who knows who will win? Everyone likes to make predictions (as do I), but a monkey spinning a wheel can be a better prognosticator in making hockey round predictions than a seasoned hockey observer! :) |
