Steve Downie is being taken off on a stretcher right now in the Rangers/Lighting game. He was battling for the puck with Dan Girardi, and the blade of his stick jammed into the boards & the other end speared himself. |

This kid had so much potential then came in the league and skated around like a ticking timebomb. Seems like he is finally getting it in tampa ,plays well on that first line and is a first time 20 goal scorer. Besides the crosby incident not too long ago I think he is finally shoring up his game and realizing he can make an impact, a positive one for his team. Pretty odd injury spearing yourself in the boards though haha maybe karma was at play. |

Just to update, MSG went to commerical break, and the when they came back, Downie was actually able to get up on his own & with the help of teammates skated off the ice. |
