Posted - 12/29/2006 : 14:15:51 The NHL didn't start collecting the +/- stat until 1967-68. I checked a few obvious guys I could think of and here is what I found:
Gordie Howe +45 Mario Lemieux +55 Phil Esposito +76 Jari Kurri +76 Brian Trottier +76 Bobby Clarke +83 Guy Lafleur +89 Wayne Gretzky +98 Larry Robinson +120 Bobby Orr +124
Does anyone know if Orr holds the record? |

Yes Bobby Or holds the record & it probably never be broken because the average today for the best is a round +45

Hey Ryan. These are their best single season records.
I was surprised that Lidstrom didn't even come close. His best was 43. I would have thought with his ice time, defensive capabilities, high scoring team mates, and strong goaltending that he would have been higher on the list. |
