One, which "nation" does the National Hockey League refer to? The 6 original teams were in both Canada and the US. I'm guessing it was just supposed to cover for both countries.
Two, why is the skate the penguin on the Pens logo is wearing a figure skate and not a hockey skate?

The original 6 is not really the original 6, but more like the six that have been around the longest I guess.
