The Flames are on their first winning streak of the season. Last night they beat Dallas 3-1. With that win they have finally won 2 games in a row.

I bet they are a couple games over 500 by the end of Dec. This is the beginning of their rise to the top of the Div.

Well babs, my week of exile is over. I lived up to my end of the bargain, I was in the forums daily. I posted on the Flames weaknesses and how San Jose is so much better than them...gag! I posted on how great San Jose was...uggggg. And I agreed with you on the two teams whenever I saw you talking about them. Although, babs I have to admit, you were kind of easy on me...it made me reevaluate my bad side (I think I would have been a little more malicious haha!)

Any way I see that my Flames are in dire need of protection as you SOB's (said with love and respect) have been attacking them all week knowing I couldn't defend them (cue Superman music)...

I started the thread for you in the Sharks Forum, I'll leave it up to you to be creative in this Forum.

It doesn't get any better than this.

I have been asimilated.

THE - SHARKS - ARE - THE - GREATEST.

this is going to be a long week....
bablaboushka Posted - 12/24/2006 : 11:09:18
Man what an absolutely awesome game that was to watch on so many levels. Even one of the kids' dads on my hockey team said he watched the Leafs-Caps game, then the Flames-Sharks game and he said it was like watching an Atom game then watching a Midget game. The Sharks and Lombardi are so incredibly fast and it makes for such an exciting game. That one shift in the second period where it was odd-man rushes going both ways like 3 times was what NHL hockey truly is meant to be, and wouldn't you know it the Sharks scored at the end of it after Germyn hit the post. I commend the Flames on a great game to watch but simply put, the better team won (the better goalie also won). Smith's goal (the Sharks' third) pretty much sums up my feelings toward Kiprusoff. Also, the Sharks are so fast and disciplined that Calgary never even got a powerplay, wow.

So Leigh, hehe, looks like the Sharks triumphed once again (man if I had a nickel...). I'll let you take it in first, even though you should be used to this by now!

I'll see you in the Sharks thread.

Hahaha LOL Don't get me wrong though, I like the Flames too (Kiprusoff's great) but with Cheechoo and Thornton the Sharks aren't to be messed with!

Sharks won 4-1

I appreciate the help with beating the Flames Bab's. Keep up the good work!
leigh Posted - 12/23/2006 : 19:41:34
Woooooooo!!!!!!! Short handed break away - 5 hole!

1 - 0 Flames

Crap! End to end action. Flames hit the post and San Jose comes down and scores. Oh well, great game so far!

1 - 1 middle of second

That penalty was BS! You can't penalize a guy for being in a battle.

2 - 1 Sharks - 9:30 in the second

What the hell was Kipprusoff thinking?

3 - 1 Sharks - 4 minutes into the 3rd

empty netter. 4 -1 sharks Final.

Babs. suddenly I feel like taking a holiday.
leigh Posted - 12/23/2006 : 19:35:41

I'm thinking the Sharks are gonna win (no offense, leigh )
bablaboushka Posted - 12/23/2006 : 15:20:05
I'll hardly be paying attention to the Leafs-Caps game in such anticipation.

Stay tuned for updates and analysis during the intermissions
leigh Posted - 12/23/2006 : 13:34:03
I saved my 300th post for you babs. You're going down!!!!!! LOL!
bablaboushka Posted - 12/23/2006 : 13:32:06
You have no idea how pumped I am for this game.
leigh Posted - 12/23/2006 : 12:45:50
Tonight is the night babs! I have been invited out to play in a friend's league game, but I think I just might stay home and watch my boys land some big fish.

Is it wrong to hope for a Thornton injury??? kidding!
bablaboushka Posted - 12/21/2006 : 16:03:34
I figured they'd pick it up eventually, but I enjoyed every minute of their struggles. Leigh, I can't wait until Saturday night's game!!!!!!

Whose laughing now? But for a disallowed goal that should never have been disallowed, it would have, and should have, been 4-1 Canucks. That's almost a beating.
Get used to disappointment.

I hear the Flames are improving, according to my TSN e-mail newsletter. I haven't read it yet though, just saw the headline and a short caption....
bablaboushka Posted - 12/15/2006 : 16:59:13
Kiprusoff's so good he can't stop the worst offense in the league.

oil guy Posted - 11/23/2006 : 10:55:36
yes it was a good game but really in typical oil fashion the played just enough to win. man i can not wait to see them put in a full 60 minutes of effort.
But a win is a win in the standings.
leigh Posted - 11/22/2006 : 08:55:07
Hey Lyall and Oil Guy, ya that was a good one. i only saw the highlights and it looked like a wicked game. Did you guys see it? The shots were even apparently, but all the highlights were Flames getting stoned by Roli! he stood on his head and made some huge saves.

Oh well it had to end sometime. Just a small bump and we're back on another roll so I can start a new thread! LOL!
oil guy Posted - 11/22/2006 : 06:04:10
Well so much for that streak.
Go Oil
lyall Posted - 11/21/2006 : 22:00:25
This thread is gone way off topic. I think we atta start a new one General Hockey Chat about hating any american team, seeing as we can't all agree.

Back to the Flames.
Leigh your little fire just got snuffed out by none other than the Edmonton Oilers! And it was a hell of a game too. I thought Iginla was gunna get the winner, but Roli came up big.
But hey, 6 games in a row. Not to shabby.

OK, let's all pick on the Islanders. The Rangers are by far NY's better team.

That's a tough one to agree on hating lyall. Most TRUE (not that bandwagon bullsh**) Calgarian fans cheered for Carolina just because of the rivalry between them and Edmonton. At that, I must say I personally hate Nashville.
lyall Posted - 11/20/2006 : 21:11:45
lol. Man, people from Long Island & Chicago hate those teams. But While we're at it throw in Carolina.
Talking of fluke payoff runs (discussed in another thread, but...), the Cans last year? Notice how every team they beat lost players to inguries......
bablaboushka Posted - 11/20/2006 : 20:51:22
Hey

Hey

Hey

Hey

No need for that. I hate the Islanders and Blackhawks.
lyall Posted - 11/20/2006 : 20:08:37
I agree. What American team can we all agree to hate? I know you & I hate the Avs, but lets all start to talk trash about the Sharks. lol. Who's in?
