I hope it's not the Rangers, they're stacked enough already. And I hope it's not the Leafs for obvious reasons

If the US gets eliminated in international competitions, I cheer for Finland. My sister, however, roots for Sweden in the same situation. She says high five

Forget what I said earlier, Forsberg is always hungry he has just been held back by injuries.

Forsberg underwent surgery by foot specialists in Gothenburg last Thursday (28/6). If the surgery doesn´t deliver it could be career ending for one of hockeys great ones...

The only article I could find in english: http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/ci_6256450

I hope he recovers and play for either Avalanche, Modo, The Leafs or Rangers (his girlfriend is from NY), (Sorry Buffalo fans).

Yes! The Sens won't be quite as strong now.

And what about Sheldon Souray?

They'd both look good in navy and yellow

Well if Souray does sign with Buffalo he would get 10 minutes of ice time and half of that 10 minutes on the PP on the right point with Connelley on the other.

Forsberg, Vanek, Afinogenov? Hmmm that sounds pretty good to me.

Considering his injuries and him being 1/3 of the double triple gold club Forsberg might not be as hungry as he has been in the past. He might retire, take a year off or play in sweden again. If he choose to play in the NHL I hope it´s for another team than the Preds.

The title that Forsberg is missing and it´s kinda big if your swedish is winning the Elite league (SM-guld). And when you add up the fact that the only club in europe Forsberg can see himself playing for won the same title for the first time in 28 years last season it´s not entirely impossible that he chooses to play in sweden next season.

well i think Forsberg might take a year off and Souray will get sighed soon

And Buffalo signed Thibault! He'll be a decent backup, certainly a billion times better than Conklin.

NYI is actually recovering from its blows...they now have Guerin and Comrie. A good start.

more than a billion times better than conklin, why is conklin in the nhl anyway?

what do Calgary and a tea bag have in common- they're both only good for one cup

Well Conkiln's first game with Buffalo he stopped over 40 shots!

And Thibault is a good veteran goaltender who could push Miller to play better than Conklin did to push him.

And Mik good news for us, no more Comrie and Preissing on the Sens really helps us.

I think Garth Snow has done an excellent job as GM of the NYI. Maybe Charles Wang didnt make a terrible move after all.

Just in case, I hope you have your favorite recipe on shirt laying around in the close proximity. Btw how do you prefer your shirt?
Beans15 Posted - 07/03/2007 : 09:46:41
Hey Mik, why do you think that Burke went out and Picked up Schneider and Burtuzzi?? Neidermayer has told Burke that he is leaning towards retirement and Selanne appears to have done the same.

The Ducks were at $31 million before signing Giggy, Bertuzzi, and Schneider. This will put them at $46 million with 9 UFA (including Selanne) . Think this through. Hockey is more than the players on the ice. It's a business. How can the Ducks sign 5-7 players with $5 million??

I will eat my shirt if Neidermayer doesn't retire. Selanne may come back at a bargin, but Scotty is history.

I Love your Kids, IHC is the man, and The Oilers Rule. Does that make me insane??

I think that it is a surprise to me because Sheldon Souray is a premier defenceman in the NHL and any team would be lucky to grab him as a UFA.
Mikhailova Posted - 07/02/2007 : 16:25:23
Holy crap...the Ducks have Bertuzzi! Man they are REALLY stacked now. Selanne and Niedermayer better not retire--next season is gonna be great.

I'm sure they were saying Nylander went to Edmonton this morning.

Nylander's off NYR. Good. That'll take someone of their stack.
Kashmire Posted - 07/02/2007 : 14:31:33
Nylander to the Caps in a four year contract.

Hamrlik to the Habs in a four year contract.

Smart moves. This will be a good year for Washington.
leafsfan_101 Posted - 07/02/2007 : 09:18:03
Blake is a selfish player though. Watch Sundin pass him the puck and him taking it to the goal. With Tucker near the net if Blake doesn't score Tucks can bang it in or pass it back to Mats. Watch Sundin get lots of assists this year.

Good overall signing though. Look at my response in the "Blake to Toronto" topic.

Second place is only first place of the losers.

I dont think I would really call Blake a power forward. Small players, such as Blake, typically arent your average power forward.
Leafs Rock Planet Posted - 07/02/2007 : 08:46:56
To me the signing of Jason Blake to The Toronto Maple Leafs is a good move for JFJ. Jason Blake, a fomer 40 goal scorer, will provide a bit more of a scoring touch that the leafs dont really need. But still, 40 goals every year will no question help a hockey team.
PainTrain Posted - 07/01/2007 : 22:11:49
Rangers also have Cherpenov. If they don't get it this year they can add him to the mix and it helps out more.
SlowShot Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:53:03
WOW look at the rangers signing Drury and and Gomez not to shabby if you ask me.

Oh and for any raptor fans out there they signed Jason Kapono. I likey he's a great shooter.

I love Charles Wang
SlowShot Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:51:02
Peronally i like it because I like the style blake plays he is fast and getting 40 goals last year with NYI is pretty good.

I love Charles Wang
Kashmire Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:45:54
Jason Blake to Toronto for four years $20 million.

Scott Gomez to Rangers.

I dunno how to react to the Blake deal being a Maple Leaf fan. Anyone's thoughts?

any team needs a player like drury hes a winner wherever he goes plays hard at both ends of the rink and leads ,,,, there are not enough players like chris in the league he would be the absolute best player for my habs drury and higgens would make amazing linemates!!!

Pasty

Hey Pasty do you think he could make Kovalev not coast from blue line to blue line?

But you're rite he would fit on any team, but of course I want him on my Sabres.

You may also state which team needs what kind of player.
PainTrain Posted - 06/29/2007 : 20:40:59
It depends what you need. You need leadership Smyth or Drury would be the best, you need offence Briere or a healthey Forsberg would be good, and if you need a defenceman to do nothing except take a shot at the point on the power play and get blowed away by forwards 20 times a game then take Souray
-oil-country- Posted - 06/29/2007 : 18:55:14
Drury, although Briere is better skill-wise I think Drury would be better to teach the young guys and is also very good offensive and defensive. Also would probably ask for 1-1.5M less than Briere.
