Who is the one great player who didn't win the Stanley Cup but deserved it the most? |

I suspect you'll be able to add Iginla to the list in about 5 years time too...if he goes his career without winning a cup it will be a shame.
As for recents: Linden, Roenick, Sundin, Alfie, Olaf Kolzig. There are probably more. |

Hasn't been exactly three years but I'm going to add Sundin to this list anyway. A great captain and a great player that defected in order to capture a cup, it's too bad he didn't realize that the Canucks didn't have a chance last year . The Stanley Cup was the prize I wanted him and the Leafs to win for years and to this day I'm still dreaming of it happening .

Marcel Dionne played 18 years and 1348 games without getting close to the cup. Meanwhile his 19 year old younger brother Gilbert won a Stanley Cup in only his second year in the league.
He was picked second overall to Guy Lafleur in the 1971 Draft. Can you even imagine the amount of cups that pick cost him?
Met him once, great guy and an all time small guy HOF'er at 5'8" and when he retired he was #2 overall in points. |

bure and eric lindros where two of the best to never win a stanly cup they both had loads of talent but always came up short. eric carried his team to the finals numerous times and with the legion of doom you thought they could of had and answer for the cup but it never happend. |

Stastny collected the highest total point in the 80's behind the great one.he have been a target for others team because he was one of the first european toplay in the NHL.He was the heart and soul of the Nordique because he sow up every games on every shifts.Areal competitor. |

I would have to agree with Andyhack and say Brad Park. Just a phenomenal defenceman who came very close to the cup several times. Close but no cigar seems to sum up Park's career. Close to winning the Norris, close to winning the cup...

I voted Sittler - but I think Dionne, Cicarelli, Gartner, Neely are just as deserving.

I just went to Denis Savard's info at Wikipedia, and under "NHL Playing Career" it says he won the cup...
"In 1990, Savard was traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Defenceman and future team captain Chris Chelios and a second-round pick (Mike Pomichter) on June 29, 1990. Savard won the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1993. He was soon traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played 2 seasons. On April 6, 1995 Savard was traded back to Chicago, for a 1996 sixth-round pick (Xavier Delisle)."

I vote Trevor Linden... not because he was an amazing player (although he was back in his run with the canucks in 94 and such... but because of his heart as a player... i think those kind of players deserve the cup more than the guy with the most skill, but is still an a******... also, speaking of the canucks in 94... Pavel Bure probably deserved a cup, had it not been for the injuries and the idiotic move to florida. |

That was exactly my point. He was an amazing player on a team that was going nowhere quickly. If he was on a team like Montreal, he would have been surrounded with talent, imagine how many more cups they may have won.

hey hkalirah imagine if dionne played on a team like montreal how many cups he would have won. pts has nothing to do with it. how may pts records would lafluer have set on a team like la where there was no system.after teh 2nd period in montreal bowman had them shut it down in the 3rd for the win. didn't care if you needed a goal for a hat trick if u were lucky u get it in an empty net,. |

Denis Savard has his name on a Cup. He was with Montreal when they won in 1993
