In my opinion I would have to say the San Jose Sharks that got some players that can score.

Now look at a team like Ottawa. With Heatley and Alfie out, they have been in the dog house lately. You can not have a playoff contender relying solely on two guys, we saw how it turned out last year in hte final against the Ducks.

Habs get number 25 this year

Good point with Montreal with their consistency, I was surprised to see they were so high in goals per game. Buffalo too is surprising because they have not played that well but then they have clearly been volatile offensively.

Look at Detroit. You want to tell me that with both Datsyuk and Zetterberg not playing well they stay as hot as they are. We saw the results of injuries to key guys in Ottawa. Both right now, and how they lost without Heatley and Spezza producing in the final.

For a team to win it all, they need more than secondary scoring, they need all lines contriuting in every way. Ask Brad May or Sammy Pahlson.

Yeah but Detroit can play without either one of Datsyuk and Zetterberg and still win because of their team game, depth and defense.

Well good for you, the best offense would not be 20th in the league. Nobody in the poll has voted for San Jose. If you think they have the most offensive talent that is different than having the best offense, LA has a lot of offensive talent too, but that does not mean they have the best offense.

If Cheechoo, and Marleau were on pace for their best seasons then San Jose would have 171 goals, and that would be 3.29 / game, good for 3rd.

Cheechoo is 20 goals, and Marleau 12 behind where they could be...

But this is a pole of who has the best offence, not who could have the best offence...

Tough to go against Ottawa, and Detroit when the numbers speak for themselves...

I voted Detroit, because I can't stand Ottawa (Leafs Fan).

Why has no one voted for San Jose?

Detroit also looks like the best Defensive team also, I wonder if they can carry that into the playoffs?

I disagree, Alex - if Detroit had the equivalent in terms of missing players, say Datsyuk and Zetterberg - they would be hurting too, I think. And history has shown that "one big line" teams can win the stanley cup.

My vote is for Ottawa.

btw - putting San Jose on the top of the offense list is pretty hilarious, dude, and I think you need to research a bit more before you post.

Best offense based on what?

If its goals scored it is clearly Detroi or Ottawa, San Jose is way behind them.
