Even though he's hung em' up...I would look to the Big Swede, number 13. Whether we're down by one, tied, or up 1...Mats Sundin took his game to another level in crunch time.

Just take a look at his Game-winning goal numbers, and OT winning goal numbers...even his game tying numbers...

So like I said, my money would be on Mats...

No question its Chris Drury. His game has dropped lately but like Pasty7 said back in the BUF/COL days he was money in the bank.

Claude Lemieux. In the playoffs anyway.

All-time has to be Claude Lemieux . . . he played miles above what he did during the regular season in the playoffs. He suddenly became a very good star player, as opposed to a talented "mucker" who could pot the odd goal.

I'd give an honourable mention to Forsberg for all-time clutch as well

Current . . . no one really jumps out. I have to say that Crosby has been pretty clutch in terms of overall performance, but as we saw this year, you can't win every time.

probably drury, but i'd like to throw out an honourable mention to scott niedermayer. This guy has one every championship you can think of. And that's because in big games, he just goes up a couple notches and dominates even more.I mean he was canada's best player in the gold medal game, in last years playoffs he put the ducks on his back and almost carried them all the way. He doesn't have drury's legendary clutch scoring but he dominates big games a lot more subtlely.

Its not worth winning if you cant win big!

I know they were big stars but Joe Sakic, Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier, Mark Messier, Mario Lemieux, Bobby Orr, Guy Lafleur & Steve Yzerman come to mind very quickly as guys who I'd want on the ice when the game is on the line. They all have Conn Smythe trophies too to back it up. I have to admit that when I first read the question, Claude Lemieux immediately came to mind and I also agree with Chris Drury. I think that the best choices among current NHLers are Jonathan Toews & Sidney Crosby.

I wouldn't mind Drury or Claude Lemieux. Joe Sakic, statistically anyways, with 19 GWer's in 172 playoff games is pretty fantastic for a career as well. But one guy is missing from the group

Glen Anderson anyone??

Tied for 3rd all time in playoff game winner.

When the best team full of the best players on the planet in the 80's needed a goal it was Glen Anderson that came through.

Let's not forget that Anderson has more playoff OT goals than anyone except for Sakic and Richard.

If I had to pick, my list would be(assuming all players in their prime):

Sakic
Anderson
Drury
Gretzky
Brett Hull
Mike Bossy
Claude Lemieux

I'd have to say Crosby....he won it in overtime for canada (thanks to iginla) and that's been the most important game of recent.

JOE THORNTON! O, wait, wrong thread...

Ya, I guess Sakic is a good choice, I forgot how clutch he was, as was mentioned above.
