I'm starting to have trouble to even come up with Goalie names that would have played in the WCH in the 70s!
Czech's Holecek? |

Correct, Jiri Holecec from Czechoslovakia was the all-star at the 1971, 1972, 1973, 1976, and 1978 Championships.
14.) Who was the only non NHL team to select a player in the NHL draft ? What was the year, and what was his name?

Yeah I just Googled it and this thread came up as one of the top results.
I know this isn't 20 questions, but would the normal, grew-up-in-the-90s-type of hockey fan know who this guy is? |

Sorry not Tony Esposito...
This player won a cup before the NHL existed. I will give a big hint, he was the last goalie to win a Stanly cup with a team that was not in the NHL...

Harry Holmes Harry was the first goalie to win the Stanley Cup with four different franchises, the Maple Leafs, Metropolitans, Cougars, and Blueshirts. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.

CORRECT Harry "Hap" Holmes won the Cup in 1914 Blueshirts, 1917 Metropolitans, 1918 Arenas, and in 1925 with the Victoria Cougars the last non NHL team to win the Stanley Cup...

1904 The Ottawa Silver Seven...Montreal Wanerers defaulted...somethin' about the ref and not wanting to play in overtime with him being the ref....Ottawa won by default

1904 is CORRECT, but the reason that I have was that the first game ended in a tie (5-5), a new two game series was to be scheduled to be played in Ottawa, however the Wanderers refused to play unless one of the games was in Montreal, as defenders of the Cup Ottawa did not have to yield to such a demand and they were awarded the Cup...There may be more to it but that is all I have...

I think it is Johhny Bower. His NHL and AHL records combined must have produced a ton of wins. |

Johnny Bower amassed 639 wins while playing pro hockey, NHL 250 , AHL 359 , and the now defunct WHL (1952-1974) 30. Patrick Roy had 552, 1 in the AHL.
18.) Name the only NHL defenceman that scored a hat trick in 1994/95 regular season ?

Nevermind I didn't have to look it up, just thought about it for a second: Yammy Yagger won it in 1991 which was his first season. I just had to confirm that it was his first season by research but the idea was all mine |
