here is a link of TSN's top 50 players in the NHL ,,,,,,, as it will for most people since we all have an opinion,,, i think this list is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY off!

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=29790

for example Henrik at number 6 and then Daniel 18th?? Henrik is not that much better than Daniel... their are to many on the list for this to all make sence to me....

Haha patsy you beat me to it !!
I was just gonna Make a topic on it !!

anyway, I agree that there is too much skill in the league haha. Top fifty is really hard. I mainly just payed attention to the top twenty. Which I thought was fairly accurate. I do agree with Crosby number one, which is disappointing, but all in all I don see too many things wrong with it ! I thought brad Richards would make it at least top thirty though >.<

I have no problems with the rankings of the Sedins as it is based on what they have done statistically. Most of these "Top" lists are basically a stat pull. Hence Crosby being the top of the ladder for having the best PPG production since the lock out.

Henrik Sedin has done more than Daniel has, regardless of the reasons why. So to say the rankings are WAAAAAAY off because of that is simple WAAAAAY off.

Top 10 is hard to argue with

I think Getlzaf, Pronger, Hossa, and are too low and Miller, Weber, Chara are too high.

Outside of that, I would say the list is pretty accurate and I can't think of more than maybe a small handful of players who should have been there but weren't.

Did a PPG draft and Hank went 4th and Daniel 9th, that is with a goaltender choice as well (7F-2D-1G)

Hard to comment really when it doesn't really define what they mean by "Top 50"? Although it's in their "fantasy" section, it clearly isn't a list based on points as guys like D. Keith wouldn't be nearly as high as he is!

It would appear to me that this list is based on this year, and this year only. As in, if you could have one guy added to your team, who would it be? I may be wrong, but that seems to be the only logical thing i can't think of that fits with this list. It can't be a "pick one guy to start a new team with...." as older guys like Pronger and Datsyuk wouldn't be nearly as high as they are?

As for the Sedin's, if it's the criteria that i think it is, i think Henrik is too high. While he did somwhat carry the Canucks while his bro was out, his PPG compared to when Daniel was in the lineup was down a bit. There's still somewhat of a question as to how good these guys would be on their own?

Not sure, i could be way off on my thinking of the way they ranked these 50?

Sorry you are comparing fantasy draft with real hockey impact. Toews in fantasy hockey is almost useless. Real hockey though he is pretty much golden.

Actually Alex, if what I heard on Sportsdesk this morning is right, you are correct. This list was based on what the players will do this year, previous years having no bearing, hence the odd looking order for some players.

Totally a fantasy list for the poolsters I think.

If it's for fantasy purposes of any sort, it must be for a very extremely detailed and very deep fantasy pool. What i mean is for a guy like D. Keith to be as high as he is, there has to be some sort of defensive stats. Same goes for Datsyuk, there must be big points for +/- or some points for a defensive forward or something? No way it's for a regular hockey pool where a goal and an assist are worth 1 each??
