I'd say Tretjak is the best of all time, Hašek was the former best, Brodeur is the current best. |

No offence, but In my opinion....ALL WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roy won 3 conne smythes.....Hasek zero so....I know dom has 2 harts, but I think Roy is the all-time "big game" goalie myself, and that's the type of goalie teams REALLY need, when the big games come with hasek, he typically disappeared.
Tretjiek was a great goalie and a great man (I read his autobiography 3 times!!!!!), but I certainly don't think he deserves the title of "all-time great"...he was by far the most athletically gifted goalie for his time, he was the first goalie to really do off-ice conditioning. He was a pioneer, and I have tonnes of respect for him, but NO CHANCE he's the best of all-time....
I'd go with Roy or Glenn Hall, those guys were studs...Hall started something like 350 straight games...Could you imagine a goalie doing that?.
Both those goalies changed the game.....Hall invented the butterfly, and Roy is the model of most goalies now-a-days. I went to a hockey tournament in quebec once, and every goalie over there was being trained in that classic Roy-Butterfly way. That's why most goalies come from quebec.

Wow, how have you never heard of Walter"Turk" Broda? I bet im the youngest person in these forums (yes,I'm up to age restrictions) but even I've heard of him. Here are his career stats. The stats are incomplete though ( I dunno why??)

Great call man......He was a pioneer too. Not just for the mask thing (well, he was the 2nd goalie to do that)...but he was the first to handle the puck behind the net...... Not to mention he was unreal....

...but it's locked.
Oh, and IHC--how many times do I have to post Dom's career stats? 3 Conn Smythes? OK, but c'mon Hasek has 6 Vezinas, 2 Harts, an Olympic gold and bronze medal, is 10th all time in shutouts, is in the top 5 currently for GAA, a career high .937 SV%... |

Anybody but Roy. Good goalie, highly overrated. His teams made him look good. |

One team made him look good Colorado but he practically was Montreal for a couple years. |

My vote goes to Brodeur, because he's on pace to break many goaltending records.
