I think Niedermeyer will win it. Lidstrom's production has dropped off signifigantly, and Pronger missed a bunch of games again.
I'd love to see Dan Boyle at least get a nomination, though the chance of him winning are zero. |

Nicklas Lidstrom.
5th in D scoring, 3rd in time on ice/game, 3rd in the NHL with a +40 and led his team to a tie for 1st place in the NHL. This guy is unbelievable.
Dan Boyle is the most under-rated and under-appreciated defenseman in the NHL. Just thought I'd mention it. |

Niedermeyer deserves to win it. He's so good in all aspects save hitting. He's not a big hitter but he's strong everywhere else. He should probably have at least one more Norris already maybe two, but I feel he has been overlooked because of who he played with. Stevens got far more attention on the Devils because he was the big hitter but wasn't nearly as good at everything. I'd say Niedermeyer and Lidstrom are pretty close overall but I'd give the edge to Niedermeyer because he's such a great skater. He's an all time great in that category. He's a joy to watch actually. He deserves it this year for sure. No more of this voting for the guy with the reputation.(Lidstrom). |

Look at Lidstroms +/- compared to Niederamyer. Lidstroms should win it again. |
